No but the current trend amongst the starlets in hollywood to be a size zero is particularly dangerous.
I'd love to see more normal size models in magazines and in shop windows.

Apparently models in Madrid have to have a BMI of 18.5 to be allowed on the catwalk.
I think that works out at 8.7 stones at around 5'11"
I generally prefer what would be termed as a curvier women, size 14 or above, usually much more sexually exiting, think alot of blokes do, but say they want a skinny women due to peer pressure
I thought Evans started at a size 16?
I think Kiss is right about the ratio thing, I'm a size 8 but I'm 5foot1 so I'm not skinny.
The funny thing is, I used to be 14stone4 and size 20, but the thinner I've got the more critical I am about myself. I think I was actually happier when I just accepted I was big.
Btw, what does BBW mean?

Big Beautiful Women/Woman biggrin
There is a trend that I have noticed going against men or women that like their partners a bit "slimmer" than BBW standards though... can even see it on here.... people assuming that men who like slimmer women are just lying because of peer pressure or media pressure? Come on!! Lol....
When I started this message I was just genuinely interested in why people lie about their size, and it has developed into something more interesting, that I would just like to point out and then disappear into the ether again and see how it is taken (hehe..)
I dont see why BBWs should have a problem with slimmer women, nor slimmer women with BBWs, but it tends to happen. There are a few remarks which seemed particuarly catty (or bitchy or condescending, depending on how you want to label it) with regards to why BBWs are "better" than slm women (or more attractive, whatever).
Surely, its just down to personal pref? Personally, I have been both a size 18 (in the past) and a size 10 (now) and I am MUCH MUCH happier, confident and sexy now. Yeah, I was still confident and sexy in the past, but I prefer being this way. Some people prefer being bigger - it cannot be generalised - think Polo said something similar earlier anyways...
Thats all really. Not too coherent on a sunday afternoon it seems smile
Peace and love to all
maybe they are quoting american sizes which are normally one size below ours...... like a US 8 is a UK 10 .......
anyways whats all this size thing? being a dumb bloke I wouldn't know anyways, I just go by what I see smile

there are days when i feel massively obese, but i know im not that big
its just laziness on my part, and lack of motivation
but im me
and will only change for me, not anybody else

I'm currently on a "diet" (not a crash one) and going to the gym 3/4 times a week to lose weight .. why? because I'M not happy with how I look and it does affect my confidence. The only person I'm losing it for is me.
Doesn't stop everyone Tom, Dick and Harry, telling me that I look fine and that I don't need too! My does other people's weight make people feel they need to give an opinion!!!
Makes me so mad!

I have to be honest and say that I don't like saying my size because I am tall ( nearly 5'9" ) and obviously would look too skinny ( in my opinion ) as a size 8-10. However when I say my size it sounds huge to me so I can only imagine what it sounds like to others. Actually I should shut up about this because I have gained 2 stone since landing in this country ... damn roast potatoes!!! AM on a diet and goal is to be back at my weight by the Wigan munch. Then I'll tell ya my size wink

Below a certain 'size' women are just uncomfortable. So ladies do not be afraid. If you look good, feel good, you are the right size.

Abi, from what I saw on saturday night, there's feck all wrong with your size sillyhwoar:
I think the fashion industry should stop starving models and simply use scaffold poles for their next show. wink
Lets not discuss SIZE, it is irrelevant, lets discuss SHAPE, very relevant!

I think that is wrong, sorry but you have to take into account a persons height and body shape before you begin sticking a lable on them, if we need those types of lables dunno rolleyes
In edit - I'm not 'extra large', I'm not BBW, I'm fat and have no problems saying so biggrin
Im talking average.

I'm a size 8 - 14 where does that leave me? I don't think of myself as small because I'm 5'7". My sister in law is the same dress size as me but 4'11", how could you describe her as medium when she's tiny?

This is what I am talking about!! You cannot say this - yes, it is *your* opinion, but generalising like this is just as bad as saying that larger, more fleshy women aren't attractive to men because they feel too squidgy...... EACH TO THEIR OWN!!! Lol...
As someone has already said - its more about shape than size in reality anyways smile
