h hi everyone i have something that has been playing on my mind for a while now i was under the assumption that if you are over 18 you are an adult and that SH members will agree.I was surprised when some one at a munch said to be iam too young to be there and besides as a black man your chances are next to nothing so forget having fun here and go home.i just looked at the lady and smiled ,walked away befor e i could do something very you think i should have said something sooner or was i right to just walk away .oh and for the record iam 26
You should have told her your age and questioned why you were too young in her opinion and more importantly you were entitled to question whether racism exists in that group.
The reality is that it was probably her naive opinions so a quick slap may have given you some gratification.
If you look at the photo ads (women seeking men) there is a big demand for black men assuming your tackle matches the stereo_typical length.
Dont let one stupid bitch put you off mate!
I agree with cricket dont be put off by one person biggoted views keep with it.
Best of luck

people like that make me mad evil
Well Trix, now you have seen Steph's photo I bet you will be devastated that she will not play with you.
Also Steph, the term "coloured" went out a long time ago and is considered insensitve by some. It demonstrates a sheltered existance.
I didnt quite get the half page lecture on etiquette at meetings. This was not part of the thread and therefoe implies you think Trix is the sort of person to behave like that.
Choose your words carefully.
Whoever it was that said this to you had no right to give opinions on behalf of the whole of SH. Yes, it might have been her personal taste, but at a munch you have every right to be there (unless you're being a prick lol ). IMO her saying this was out of order.
Personally,I would have ripped her lungs out,the racist b***h.
Only my opinion tho.

Before I express my outrage the same manner as everyone else can you just clarify something for me?
Did this happen at the munch (and by munch I'm talking about the pub attached to the bowling alley).
Or did this happen at the club afterwards which was unfortunately (in my mind) associated with the munch??
Steve
I am as outraged as everyone else that has replied so far, so dont let that one remark get to you. Like Steph you are a little bit too young for my usual preferance but I am asure there are many to whom your age would be an asseset rather than adeterant.
As for your colour, well im suer its not the first time you have met with racism, nor will it be the last, but as we all know only a complete plonker would have mad the remark in the first place so your not missing anything!!
We all meet with some form of discrimination on here (hey, ive been told, "Im way to big") just dodnt let it get to you!!
Well before this post gets even more heated....... lets draw a conclusion.
Trix mate, that woman was wrong. very wrong. In fact i applaud you on your balls to not smack her one for her blatant rudeness and inexcusable behaviour. i don't know what i would have done but it wouldnt be walking away.
Being 18 myself, i understand the whole age thing. its not all bad. some women and couples like younger men and some don't. facts of life. It'd be boring if everyone thought the same way right? So just remember theres always gonna be people that think differently to you. take no notice, theres plenty more fish in the sea wink
And SexySteph & Cricket68 -- Calm Down!!!!

(shakes head in disbelief at reading this comment)... Not nice at all... evil
Cricket ......why you've decided to turn this thread into a personal attack on Steph I don't know but please don't do it again...............there's no room for personal insults on here and you might not like what happens if you do it again.

Easy all!
Very sensitive subject.
Personal insults?Nope
Freedom of discussion?Absolutely
BUT it takes a lot to get ol Lb riled,an racism is top of that very short list.
I would personally like the mother to be named and shamed on this forum tonight.

Your comment about Steph's photo might be considered insensitive by many. Maybe you are the one who needs to choose his words carefully.
As for the people who commented about slapping/smacking the woman concerned, I am very surprised and outraged to find that some people would consider that an option and wouldn't recommend making this kind of comments on the forum. We don't know the whole of the conversation that took place and shouldn't base opinion on just one person's perception of it. I'm not saying Trix is fibbing, but his judgement may be somewhat clouded due to being turned down. The comments about slapping people really aren't sensible anyway; I would think very carefully about whether I wanted to attend any event which you were also going to be present at, if that's the response I'm likely to get.
So, still waitin for the outing of our resident racist.
Anyone got the balls?

The balls to stick a post up which would serve no purpose other than to be deleted two seconds later? I doubt it. Naming and shaming is all too easily abused, especially when it comes down to `one person`s word against another`, with the amount of people on here who get rejected on a regular basis, and who often kick off via PM as a result, allowing this would just allow another avenue of revenge. Best answer is for the mods to handle it with discretion, via PM, rather than to encourage public smear campaigns.

I'm not even convinced it was at the munch and I'm more inclined to think it was at the after munch party. It might not even have been a member of this site that said it so why are you calling for 'our resident racist'? Phrases containing the words 'bull' and 'china shop' spring to mind.
I bet you'd have loved to have been in charge of a ducking stool wouldn't you?........ lol

Well put Frecks but Trix doesn't actually say he was turned down:

.
Very true, I apologise. However, we still don't know all the facts do we, and it is just one person's perspective that we've been given. We don't know what Trix said.
Trix -
Have you approached the said person by pm since?
Did you tell anyone at the munch?
Have you informed a mod?
Why have you waited nearly a month before doing anything about this?
Why have you not replied to your thread?
There could be a good genuine answer to all these questions - I just think jumping to conclusions and opinions is a bit early.
Just to qualify -
I think racism in all its forms is despicable - also violence on women - also random blame/name & shame - also unprovoked personal insults -
If this person did say what they said....it was wrong...but also wondering why Trix left it so long to say something about it and why has he not replied to any of the posts on here so far?

Well trix, I don't think it would have been appropriate to have slapped her. But at most, she would have been speaking for herself and not about women in gneral. I have met some wondeful and sexy mature ladies, well into their 40's while I'd just turned 20, one of the best experiences I've ever had, actually it was the best time I had. (no offence to younger ladies biggrin ).

Sorry folks, just kidding...there are loads more than that on here lol

1. Perhaps he wasn`t sure whether to bring it up or `i have something that has been playing on my mind for a while`
2. Perhaps he hasn`t been online and checked the thread. dunno

And what purpose would it serve to *out* this supposed racist?
It may not be PC, but if that is someone's opinion, surely he is entitled to it whether anyone else likes it or not? rolleyes
Or have you now become the modern day Matthew Hopkins?
He was the Witch Finder General during the mid 1640's for those that didn't know and coincidentally born in Essex confused

i get in an see this thread and honestly if i should reply...........
there are a few different topics rolled into one here....
1) age has always been a preference thing but hopefully people look at the bigger picture, i know people who are 30 going on 60, and also know person who are 50 going on 15.....
2) the colour thing... i am really sorry that trix had to deal with this, because he is a nice guy
i have dealt with it when i first came on here with the ads, which is why i rarely use them anymore.. and still deal with it every so often in the chatroom...but i suppose i am fortunate to never have to deal with this in the forum and at munches......
i suppose the best way to look at it is this...is someone is like that then who would want to be friends with them anyway.... consider it an escape mate....
