"K"
I use all home brew antennae.
I have a vertical for 40, 20 and 12 built from a fishing pole with wire and traps, high angle of radiation from vertical is great for DX but needs radials of which I have two for each band as thats all I can fit in my garden.
I use a wire dipole for 40 inter G - lower angle of radiation than the vertical - and for 15.
I have (but currently not erected) a Hustler 6BTV vertical - this was very good until the wind snapped it above the guy point! No radials needed and can be ground mounted - excellent for small gardens and will take 1500W from memory so no problem with UK 26BdW.
I worked 213 countries with it, got my WAC, WAZ, DXCC etc with that antenna and they go for about £230 these days I think.
I might have known you'd pipe up Jon mad
Nerd flipa
This will realy make dawn mad , just come back from walters & staton where they are demonsrating the new 5 band step IR, wish i had the space for one of these (or the cash at 1700 quid)

The NERD finally wakes............
to answer the original question.
I would have said get yourself a beam. But I was listening on 40 last night and an M0 running 100watts into a full size G5RV was working into VK2 for around 20 minutes.
to answer Dawn.
:censored:
And by the way, it wasnt the amp that blew yesterday it was the power supply.
I switched on and thought, that's a funny smell. - I was alone, so knew it wasn't me. Looked back at my radio and saw smoke billowing from the psu. One quick movement and the psu was away from the mains and in my hands smoking like hell as i ran outside.
So if any of you guys got a 25 amp psu doing nothing.........
Anyhow, here, I'm using a moseley 3 element yagi at 18 feet (no dawn that's not high enough) and also a 1/2 size g5rv running full length of the garden.
dxcc count is currently 230, iota 280, waz is 40 and am now looking at the Worked All Norwegian Counties Award, but they just write WANCA on their QSL cards. Do they mean me?
Ian (licensed and proud of it for 21 years)
