An easy way to avoid picture collectors

I've seen this technique used in other places but never the swinging scene so I thought it was worthwhile mentioning:
In this day and age most people have a digital cam or webcam and, if not, everywhere sells dead cheap disposable cameras. This means that there's no real excuse for not taking a new picture for an advert. So if you're the advertiser you should just ask that everyone replying hold up a piece of paper/card with a unique word or whatever written (by hand) on it.
Just thought this may help a few people. Obviously there are also fake advertisers so perhaps people placing adverts could include "SwingingHeaven" and then date. I dunno.
As another newbie I think thats a great idea, pity i didn't read this ten mins ago b4 posting an add.
Looks like i better go and amend my add redface
Hmm, it's certainly an idea, but (playing devil's advocate for a moment) what's to stop somebody getting hold of pictures of somebody else and photoshopping them to include the relevant piece of paper?
It raises the bar, but it's certainly not foolproof. Given an appropriate image to start from (which could be prepared in advance) I reckon it'd take no more than five or ten minutes to produce something that'd probably stand up to casual observation, not much longer than it would take to take a genuine picture and get it onto my PC to send to somebody.
OK point taken would you care to produce one that shows someone holding a sign saying WIBBLE?
Not taking the piss just interested to know if a fake is easy or hard to spot, and how quick it is to do.

Interesting, so how many fake adds do you think you have come across?

I don't know about the OP, but I've come across a few... a certian site must have a 5 strikes and you are out from their subsiquent auto responder as I dont get any fake responses to fake adds any more.
That said, only one advert I responded to reciently has had the nicity to reply and did quote/respond to some of my email... but sadly didnt go any further... but thats life.
I might respond to one or two adverts a month as I only post an email off if I find something about it interests me either visually or textually which obviously cuts down on the likely hood of getting past stage one but I'd rather wait a year or two and have some good meets with a couple or single than post to every advert in the hope of getting a shag... to people that can and will shag anyone and everyone I bow to them, but its not for me as swinging is not dating emotional attraction, as such, does not really come into it so I have to be physically attracted to the people I swing with.

Yep, that'd work.
Mister President here obviously has the right idea, no chance of mistaking him for a phoney. biggrin
Why go to the trouble of doing this? Why not just hold a webcam session or show pics only via a medium such as MSN or which allows pics to be shown but without sending them? We have never sent a pic to anyone we have met or chatted to but have shown pics or held webcam sessions or both. We tend to find this does not deter the genuine, the only people who are put off are those we felt suspicious about from the outset.
By the by, its possbile to grab any or MSN display pics using the print screen button. Web cams can be easily recorded using video screen capture software, some avaiable free, some for 30 day trial.

Whilst its possible to grab images in this way, small /msn images don't scale up so well since they are fairly low res. Of course webcam chat can be recorded, hence it is important to build up some rapport before engaiging in it, we certainly dont start showing our bits the moment we get on cam, if anyone has recorded our web cam conversations they must have lots of extremely boring footage which could have been gathered in almost any context.

i could turn this around... and say that you may not be a genuine Swinging Heaven forum user since you have only posted 7 times in 3 months.... does that make you any less genuine than anyone else????? i mean the is to use your words... no real excuse... so if you are genuine i could just ask you to write more.... do you see how silly it really is.....
if you only want to meet people thru the ads then fine.. your preogative, but as been said a lot lately very few people on the ads use the forums and vice versa.......
join in more and you may find out actually who is genuine....
i am sure the 100+ people who went to the leicester munch on staurday night were genuine for example......
gotta agree with the grooverider on this one, i recently posted an add saying that peoples thread lines and joined date may be an indication as to wether or not they were particularly genuine or not.
quite a few people replied and quite rightly stated that not all SHeaven users post threads, some prefer to use the chatrooms or simply lurke around or view the ads, all of which are fine and dont make them any more or less genuine than me or the next man....
indeed myself and rach used to simply use the site for the ads section, and after a few hits and misses ended up chatting to some very genuine people. we now however use the forums quite regularly and have decided against using the adds and to ask for invites to and attend the munches, which we feel, would suit us better....
when we started using this site we were looking for a quick response, meet up and sex, which looking back on it, am glad didnt happen, we seem to have settled in quite well now, after the initial learning curve, and are enjoying the site more and more.
going back to the original point though, knowing wether somebody is genuine or not bears no indication to a peice of card in a photo, getting yourself known and getting to know other regular forum users is the best way in our humble opinion.
If the saddos want to collect my pic then good luck to them! ;) As meat2 said, never face and flaps in same pic! (though as a laydee, I wouldn't have put it quite like that) :P
Be careful with cams, because of the video capture softwear. I have seen some cam images that are pretty clear and quite good. you won't even know that someone is doing it. also, you have to be careful in allowing strangers to cam/file share pictures with you because once you accept, some can hack into your machines confused
