Just like to say Hi to you both.
Stick with it and you will find there are a lot of good people about. We started in the chatroom but when it got too busy for us we moved over to the slower paced forum (well some of the time) Here we found people who thought before they opened their mouth and blurted out something. It has taken us time to "join in" but it has been well worth it and with one munch under our belts, we are now looking forward to another one and a party. Hope you stay about and join in the fun.
xx

Its funny that you may percieve me as a newbie - I've answered many ad's on this site, have put ads up (143822 is my latest!) since 2002,to no avail but for once..so,I've even done few swinger-ish things with people, one way or another!
I guess its that you all do seem so confident, very witty, very sex side seems to be a certainty to most of you when you want it so you are able to relax here on whatever subject..not that I begrudge you that, enjoy, and not that I'm some pent up crank, gasping for it - gasp!gasp! Its just thats the reason I'm here.I so also want to be that open person, meeting people in less sex focussed socials etc though again eg an attractive couple at such a thing know the sex part is a virtual certainty for them if they wish whereas for me,I'll be honest,it is,perhaps my undoing - really I want it to lead to the sexual side of things happening for me - not that I'm selfish,I feel i have LOTS to GIVE!! - in fact INCLUDING me is a better way of saying it!
I'm not quite clear how these Munches work and what happens - just a get together/drink/party?A party or a party party?!
I'm a nice enough guy,DO have a personality but I'd be petrified.I guess its the discretion/double life thing too - its been a secretive thing for me,not open..most family/friends wouldn't understand why I need to do what I often don't get to actually do!lol!X

Hi Keith, we do percieve you as a newbie, just because we don't know you. Being new isn't a bad thing ..... it's always good to meet new people on here biggrin
As for the sex thing, it's never a certainty. If any of us do meet up then it's more often or not just for a drink or dinner etc. Both sides are safe in the knowledge that there is absolutely no pressure whatsoever. Some people stay great friends in a totally non sexual way - they are not into the same things, or they don't click like that, for whatever reason .... but they still remain great mates and continue to catch up with each other now and again.
Sometimes things do click and progress - but even then, not every meet.
For most of us in the Forums, sex is great, its fun, it's brilliant ...... but it's an extension of the friendship, not a reason for it.
Now, saying all that, there are also the people that love the anoninminiminity (that bluddy word again blink ). I've said this before, even then it's usually by reputation or recommendation.
Begin Hijack...
Mischief: anoninminiminity - bit like banananananana - never quite sure where to stop!!!
End Hijack - sorry
To me the Café is a comfy old pair of slippers that I look forward to putting on when I get in from work.
It hasn't always been that way though. At first it was a pair of those thigh length boots with the really long stiletto that were possibly a few sizes too small. It was a real struggle getting them on but once they were on it was worth the effort. (Is this makiing sense to anyone apart from me??) confused :? :?
Stick with it and you will reap the bennefits.
Now then where are those old stilettos? :? wink   lol
Sarge - do I take it you've got a shoe fetish going on there? Should I tell you about the new boots I ordered today or would that just be teasing?!!!

We have fun here , we have some interesting debates here , we take the piss and have the piss taken and we sometimes learn summat . However , its a bulletin board - call it 'online community' if ya like ........how would one know if one had friends here ?? Excepting those that have met and chatted or written on a personal more intimate level of course.
Really good points Silk and Big G.I guess I hope for affinity in people here, and their interest(weither involved or uninvolved but curious) in the scene is the most "one size fits all"bracket you could put such a large, diverse group of human beings in,true, but, one wouldn't expect the narrow minded or those hostile to free expression to be posting on here as a rule eh?x
Keith read that back and say it out loud to yerself mate !! You sound canny enough , and i dont know how long youve used the net , but isnt here exactly where you'd expect to find the assholes with closed minds ? Theyre here alright , in fact they lurk on every successful site of this kind ........this one is very well moderated and manged so they dont get a toe hold , but make no mistake leave this place unatended for a month and they would ruin it . :-) Thats cyberland for ya mate , all of human life is here .
Yes,S and BG,see where yer comin' from! - Forgive my relative newbie idealism,I did say as a rule you'd expect this to be a safe harbour for those of a enlightened bent but you are right, any fool can post on here - even me! lol
Right I'm going to make myself sound like a right anti-social git now.
My reasons for coming into the forum seem to be slightly at odds with some of the others here. I don't feel I have to be accepted or not accepted - and to be honest I don't actually have much concept of whether I am or not.
I am a bit of fringe dweller - but I like it there. I read the threads and find them interesting and or amusing and sometimes I am drawn to post a reply myself (I do try to resist this urge - and the delete button is my friend).
I don't think it has anything to do with how often you post or how much time you spend on the site - if you read a thread and feel you have something to contribute to it then you should. People will read your post and be entertained and informed. I can think of some members with very low post counts (which would indicate they don't spend much time on the site) but who somehow feel familiar to me and who's posts I would always tend to read. And some members with high posts counts who still feel like strangers to me as tend not to read their posts knowing they will hold no appeal.
Cheers
CQ
Well said CQ - but then again you won't be reading this will you??  confused :? lol
I also agree with that you have said CQ. Sometimes you click on here 'mentally', fairly quickly. Others, it takes a while to get to know them - again just as in real life.
I do also agree (even though this may seem to contradict something I said previously) that it is not always the volume of posts - god forbid we don't want to encourage posting for sake of just increasing a post count. But a low poster who has an exceptional wit, or very thought provoking posts will show his/her character through those in a very short space of time. Other people may not show the same level of lierary expertise in their posts and require more 'exposure' to enable people to get to know them.
One thing - I too, have always felt slightly on the fringe on here too ( a fact which will probably surprise some people ). This is a place that I am quite happy to be. That said - I do feel now to be a part of a group of wonderful friends on here and that feeling has strengthened since attending the NW munch.
Big hugs CQ,
Alex x
I tend to be on the fringe here too. I do regularly browse the site and read the posts and if I can think of something that is relevant I do post. Half the time when I have thought of something the conversation moves on but I do like it here and I hope people will come to see me as a quiet but active member of the forum in time biggrin

Hello Triptix - could you speak up a bit?
Just kidding!
