as far as the 'lp' thing is concerned (note: thankyou for Capitalising me, though I am a strictly lower-case kind of guy) that may just be an observational thing. I do always sign myslef as lp... so in that repsect, thankyou for noticing!
The idea of the 'clique' as viewed by those thought to be 'within' and those 'excluded' well... often there is just a level of familiarity on the forums, a bit like like nodding at someone you may see on the highstreet regularly.
It doesn't neccessarily mean youre all secretly meeting in small village barns or church halls preparing for alien visitation and pouring each other poisoned drinks for a mass suicide. But the idea of free-Love and deviant sexual practice might appeal.

i dont see it as a clique or a gang all i see is that its regular users of the forum .. or chat room etc
i have been accused off being in a clique in the chat rooms and that its difficult to break in .. but it really is not
just put in the effort to chat and take part and i find that you get accepted. its the ones who dont make much effort that i find dont get accepted and therefore end up calling it a clique and the term clique then gets a bad name.
when i was a single fem and a newbie here i found that the regular users kind of protected me from the 'baying wolves' and if any problem occured then its the regular users i went to for help and support.. for whick i thank them.
i now spend my time helping out other newbies and helping to look after those on cam who seam to be getting directed in a no directing room, or for whatever reason they feel sad or just need help using the site.

We could start our own clique for people who don't know they are in a clique, but could possibly be seen to be in a clique by someone not in a clique but who may possibly want to be in that clique, even though the clique doesn't exist.

Sometimes, in the eyes of others, it could 'appear' that certain forum characters are in cahoots... share secrets or are in each others pockets simply by the way they react/support/interact on the this annonymous medium.
'back-room' (pm) interaction and dare I say 'gossip' are sometimes 'supposed' by the viewer and this enforces the idea of the clique.
It may well not be there at all... a shared interest and a little banter may well be all that is there.
(but then again...it may not! hwahh hwahh hwaahhh)
