I think you need a hobby Warwick, ever considered swinging? Great fun!
Surely you mean that classic by that gorgeous singing voice Tony Christie
Is this the way to Amarillo?
Everynight I have been hugging my pillow
Show me the way to Amarillo,
and Marie who waits for me.
But his best had to be the theme to The Persuaders
In the avenues and alleyways
where the soul of a man is easy to buy
everybodys wheeling, everbodys stealing
all the low are living high
can we ever stop em
some of us are gonna try!
He is from my neck of the wood here in sunny South Yorkshire and apparently making something of a comeback, I used to follow him around the clubs in my teens.
Anyway he chooses
chances are he loses
no one gets to live too long
Strangely the first single I bought , now that dates me
Not getting any further with my quest however
looks like I am mad after all
Think you may be on a loser, I searched the "Sounds familiar" site and a few others that deal with TV ads and cannot find it, and I think I would have remembered my favourit singer in an ad. Also in the early 80's I was actually presented with a stuffed Armadillo and I cannot recall any associated adverts for a product with that name.
The beast was bought by my then boyfriend while staggering around Rio drunk as only a sailor can be, he bought his mother a beautiful piece of Amythest mined from the suger loaf mountain. C'est le vie!
all i can keep thinging about is Max n paddy in the bus singing to the asian elders (phoniex nitghs) sotrry
Well Dime bars used armadillos
"Dime bars: the tagline was soft on the outside, crunchy on the inside. They had some vox pop guy interviewing a country bumpkin who, given his moment of fame, says in a thick country accent, "Oi loikes... ARMADILLOS!" "Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside! ARMADILLOS!". - Cat
