oh the shame of it.....we had to use wallpaper....but you got picked on if you had naff wallpaper....so i used to turn my wallpaper over and use the white side!
god that is SUCH a blast from the past...i'd forgotten all about that, cos they dont do it round here any more!
I used brown paper so I could doodle all over them! redface
Am still a dab hand at bubble writing!
Staying on the subject of my hero Paul Young...
i use to have posters on my bedroom wall and everytime my uncle came over... he would draw glasses on him and moustaches lol

the fashion currently seems to be to go to B&Q and get wallpaper samples in loads of different designs... funky backing paper - and free. cool
I didn't think there was a school left that actually let you have your own text books!
We never covered the textbooks - but we did our work / exercise books.
We werent allowed posters - I covered mine in brown paper for doodling if it was a subject I didnt like biggrin or some nice colourful wrapping paper

True! I was thinking exercise books.
Someteachers made us cover exercise books with wallpaper, other with plain paper which was within days covered in graffiti rolleyes Text books had to be kept uncovered
If I was allowed to use posters from my Jackie, Smash Hits or Radio Luxemburg mags ( yes I'm THAT old! ) I had Slade, T Rex, Roxy Music or Queen most of the time. I used Bay City Rollers once ( Les McEwan gave me many a teenage wet dream :inlove: ) but got the piss ripped out of me for weeks so I stuck to the others after that
I used either wrapping paper or brown paper - we weren't allowed to use wallpaper.
Sorry... i meant exercise books... i had had a drink!!
We used to use wallpaper or brown paper - preferred plain paper so I could draw/doodle over it!! Something to do in those boring moments confused :?

I walked past Thames Studios every day to school. As a teenager, I remember acting like an utter prat (making a friend laugh) outside the studios to look up and realise Nik Kershaw was looking at me as if I was totally derranged!! I remember wanting the earth to swallow me up...I think it was the most ebarrassed I ever was as a teenager!! rolleyes
I didn't realise they still covered books!!
