I'd use the overtaking lane. Undertaking is illegal and potentially dangerous, regardless of how good a driver you perceive yourself to be. If there were no other cars on the road, it would hardly be a problem to overtake properly would it? A good driver would be able to think far enough ahead to pull out gradually. Just because there are others doing wrong on the road, does not make it OK for everyone else to drive illegally or irresponsibly. confused
fair call...... ok on the way past next time im flash my light and beep my horn.

lol.... not you the other car in the middle of the road. i'll flash and press my horn as i drive past overtaking in the proper lane.
guess what i saw on the way home from work today....... this is a killer.
ish pm i was driviung home on the M62, talking of nutter drivers you wont believ this one.
a Y reg type fiesta is driving on a police parking area pretty big space then does a u turn, drive on the hard shoulder the wrong way then up a banking
How is that? must be totally illegal, i'd say about 50m on the hard shoulder they drove
Bad driving...
I caught a taxi home last night and *git* of a driver thought he was that shoemacker (I know its spelt wrong lol) fella   loon , driving so fast over a terrible dark mud road me an two others were hitting out heads on the roof, screeching in fear and I think at one point someone screamed! The driver says * ohhhh, hehehe you frightened hehehe*, says I * frightened...... you should be if ya dont slow down, cos when we stop me gonna wring your bleeding neck*, driver says *that not funny* lol
xanaisx
PS he didnt get a tip!
I pulled in to the side of the road because an ambulance was heading my way, and there was traffic lights ahead- bloody 4 cars and a taxi proceded to overtake giving me evils and saying wtf is she doing etc etc, and then queue at the lights meaning they stopped the ambulance and all had to slowly try move out its way!
Grrrrr! wtf did they think i was doing? they were obviously trying to quickly get through the lights, and ended up causing more hassle- i only hope if they need an ambulance, then it gets held up for the same reason! (or is that just nasty for me to think like that) I do have to say that is my biggest pet hate on the roads, but don't get me started with tail gaters!!!!!!!!! mad :x :x :x
And how many of these bad drivers were wearing hats?
Quote by cfcuk2004
The worst drivers are those that wear hats whilst driving. FACT!

Where did you get that fact from?

rotflmao :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
The piece of bad driving that is very scary is those that think they can stay in the left hand lane of a roundabout to go all the way around to the third exit (past the halfway part of the roundabout).........
.......at this point.....
I'll leave Freckledbird to explin why you shouldn't......especially when there is a 25 foot limo with enough lights down the side to light up an average street....... is going straight on at the second exit lol

I got it from my own extensive research on the highways of Britain.
Flatcaps, baseball caps (worn backwards or forwards) beanies, deerstalkers, any type of hat on any type of person, it is true, excepting bikers who have no choice but to wear headgear.

I have a theory about this. I reckon it is due to the mental attitude of the driver with the hat on.
Think about it - if you've got yer hat on you think you're outside dontcha? So they're not sitting in a car at all - they're in an alien environment in which they need the protection of their cap - hence crap driving!!
QED.

The left hand lane was the right lane to go on. The right hand lane was the right lane to go on or turn right.........you were in the left lane so was in the wrong lane to go right, where the right lane would have been right....which the limo was in.
Ah bollox.....what was the right lane now?

A friend and I got stuck behind a car which was travelling at 20 miles an hour for about a mile stretch. The left indicator was flashing constantly and the person kept breaking all the time, it really was quite a harrowing mile. My friend eventually managed to overtake the car and we saw what can only be described as a manic looking 90 year old man hunched over the steering wheel :eeek: It was downright dangerous for this man to on the road as not all accidents are caused by speedsters.
Surely there should be some rule that when you reach a certain age, you have to retake a test to show that you are still a competent driver?

Something similar happened to me and it nearly caused me to get squished into the central reservation. I was coming up a slip merging onto a 70mph, remember that lol. I was chugging up the slip in me lil 8 valve 1.2 desperately trying to thingy up sum speed. I merged out onto the road with a fast looking car get up closer and closer, my foot to the floor not going much faster, and then shit, Im suddenly up this vans arse. I slam my brakes, brown my pants, and look at my speedo.....30mph ffs!!!!! I stuck my indicator on, waited ages to overtake and eventually did. I had to drop down to 3rd gear, just so I didnt end up with sum1 else up my arse again. My windscreen must hjave been level with the vans arse end and it stick's it's indicators on. I thought fook u, u can wait, but it starts pulling out. My whole bowel just found a new home.
That really narked me off...ffs who does 30mph on a 70mph road??? mad :x :x

Bad Choon! lol
Just for Freckledbird.......a bit from the highway code lol
When taking the last exit or going full circle
signal right and approach in the right-hand lane
keep to the right on the roundabout until you need to change lanes to exit the roundabout
signal left after you have passed the exit before the one you want.

What does it say if you're planning to go round the roundabout several times before choosing an exit?

It says don't take Dave_Notts in the car with you because he makes all these funny kind of squealing noises when you get near to roundabouts lol
