As most of you know i am a newbie in the swinging world and i am unsure of some the past you have answered my queries so here's a new one.
As a bbw i am wondering if we are generally accepted as a sub cultural thing,for those who have a penchant for big as a rule are we treated the same as all women.
For instance,if there was a munch,would i be sat there waiting for a bloke with a fetish for big girls,or a sympathy vote,or just one of the crowd?
I would really like to go to some munches,but as a single bbw,i don't want to spend all evening on my own.
are there other bbw's out there who could give me the benefit of their experience? Fellas also let me know how you'd handle this one please,and be honest please biggrin

Dear Daffodill;
I am sure that there are some men that have a 'fetish' for BBW's and restrict themselves to that type of lady. Personally, I've never ever had a fixation for any particular type of woman. I know it's an old cliche but what really matters is who you are; your personality, sense of humour etc, etc. Size is not an issue.
Currently we live in a world where it seems to be that all women must aspire to be stick thin - which is absolutely ridiculous. Have a look at the latest pics of Sophie Dhal. She now is so thin she looks awful, yet when she had a much fuller figure (and was proud of herself) she looked stunning.
Confidence in yourself gets you more in life than size of the body - or looks for that matter.
As for sitting on your own at munches because you are BBW.. It just would not happen (not that I've been to a munch ) unless you let it happen - by your body language or demeanour.
Just be yourself lol

Hi Daff, I would imagine you would not be sitting on your own in a Munch with no-one to talk to for a couple of reasons
1. Most people who attend Munches are usually friendly, especially the guys since they don't want to get treated like an outcast for bad or abusive behaviour!
2. Most men do have a attraction for bigger, curvier women, including me and a guy who turned up to my Munch. So you are sure to get lucky! lol

3. I think you are not the only BBW on this site and other BBW's are seemingly having one hell of a good time!
4. This may sound harsh, but it also depends on how big you are, if you are REALLY, REALLY big, it may be a fetish! But otherwise, it would be quite normal!

Judging by the three munches I've attended, people are just so overwhelmed at meeting people they've been chatting to online for ages, that no-one is left on their own for long. Your size would not be an issue at a munch. As far as the sexual side of swinging goes, yeah, some people have a liking for a certain size but many more don't let size come between them and a shag :twisted: wink

I am sat here laughing my head off at what I imagine your impression of how it works at a munch isâ€¦. a sign on the door saying .....

Firstly let me reassure you that you have NOTHING to worry about with regards to being sat alone at a munch.
I am myself a big girl (see my www. Link) and the only time I spent alone at the NW munch was when I went to the looâ€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦. Oops! Sorry, not even then actually! redface

Being a big girl does not describe you fully, It is just one of many things about you, ie your eye colour, your height, your hair length, your shoe size etc and so you should NEVER feel that it will result in you being ostracized.
Of course some people will have preferences with regards to body size, but then people also have preferences about blondes and brunettes!!!
If someone said you were not their type because u were not tall enough you would not take it to heart, so donâ€™t allow this to bother you.
I personally have a problem with the term BBW, I feel that it is used to define people based solely on their body sizeâ€¦ not all big women ARE beautiful lol, just as not all smaller women are beautiful. Everyone is individual.
I myself like older men, but that does not mean that I fancy all older men and have never been attracted to a man my own age. What makes me interested or not interested in a person is the â€œwhole packageâ€ not just one characteristic.
You say you are worried that men would approach you only out of sympathyâ€¦.. I donâ€™t think you should feel this way.. what is there to be sympathetic about? I think perhaps that you have a self confidence issue and THIS may stop people showing an interest in you. Rather than it being because of your body size.
I really hope you do find the confidence to make it to a munch, you would probably find that it gave you a boost and made you feel better about yourself. lol

I have never seen you so have no idea quite how beautiful you are.. but I am sure you are lovely and have nothing at all to be worried about. :rose:

If you regard yourself as being part of a sub-culture, then that's what you are. If you are simply a person who happens to be big, you don't need the label. Personally I find the term rather euphemistic, but each to their own. For me, women come in all shapes and sizes and their attractiveness has very little to do with that, but I recognise that there are those who think the bigger the better, just as there are those who prefer petite/slim women.
With regards to munches, from what I've seen you certainly wouldn't be on your own, nor would you be depending on sympathy.
Speaking only for myself, if I find a big woman attractive I'll say so, not because she's big; that isn't an issue for me, just as I wouldn't find a small woman attractive simply because she's small. In my opinion, people invariably do themselves a grave injustice when they categorize themselves in such narrow superficial terms.

Spot on WBB , it's the whole deal that does it for me. You must also remember that men like women with more curves than women do , I saw this done on a program once where all the girlies voted for the shape they thought the men would like , while the men chose between the same silhouttes . Guess what , the blokes went several handfuls up from the girls . I did have look at your site :shock: , it worked , it's only a 400 mile drive for me so whenever you are ready lol

Dafodil, oh that could've been written by me about a year ago!
Eventually someone persuaded me to go to Rios in London with them. It's a naturist spa (amongst other things :twisted: ) I have never been so terrified in my life, a few drinks in the pub beforehand only calmed me enough to put one foot in front of the other and actually get there. We stood outside the place for about 10 mins, me a gibbering wreck. All I could imagine was loads of gorgeous, size 10 visions of beauty strutting around naked ........ and me blink

Walked into the changing rooms, full of women - nearly fainted that they were actually normal women. Where were all the models! They were young/old, large/slight, bronzed/lilly white - absolutely everything. A whole bunch of women of every shape, size and colour ........ even more wonderful was that they were fantastic. They could see I was scared outta my mind and were so chatty, in fact spent so long in there changing and chatting, I forgot my poor date was patiently waiting outside on his own - he must've thought I had chickened out and legged it when he wasn't looking lol

After another drink, we went in the jacuzzi - this is where I let myself down (I had to do it) ...... I'm not one of those cute dainty little things either, so tried stepping in the jacuzzi as dainty and ladylike as possible ....... but missed the last step and done a massive belly flop redface

boobs flying everywhere, water all over the place, me nearly drowned and my date just stood there stunned lol
I must credit one rather special guy (and his duck) for making me completely comfortable with who I am. He has put up with my insecurities and practically bannished them now (thank you kiss

)
At the munches it's even more sociable - never fear you will end up in the corner by yourself, the evening will fly by before you've realised you've barely had time to grab a drink, let alone sit down...... If you are still wary, then contact someone else who is going, they/we would be more than happy to meet you for a drink beforehand and go in there together - it takes 45 seconds max before you wonder what the hell you were worried about and why you didn't do it sooner.
Relax, have fun and be proud of what you are, one of the many varied shapes/colours/heights on this planet that makes up the female species :cheers:

absolutely. it's very very hard to be a wallflower at a munch. the reception i saw myself and everyone else get was indeed completely overwhelming, and entirely based on their perception of our personalities, revealed by being actively involved with the site and it's members in some way.
and as for the size question? well as someone who's g/f's and sexual partners have always been in the size 8-12 range, i've recently been very much converted to curves. all of the meets i've had, which are admittedly few, have been with very voluptuous women, and though i certainly don't fetishise it or actively seek larger women, it's not a consideration when thinking of meets. as a skinny guy, it's much comfier and cuddlier, and there seems to be a different kind of sensuality involved, which is good for swingers who are here to explore a bit!?
