hmm not going to quote anyone directly but I think the low self esteem reason is a dodgy one in a lot of cases. I know personally quite a few woman that have thought of a boob job for self esteem reasons and have found that if you talk to them they also have a lot of other bits that would also be lined up for surgery if they had the chance. Someone else I know personaly had low self esteem suposidly due to sticky out ears. The sticky out ears were fixed on the NHS and she is now 100% happy with herself in everyway .... not, now wants a boob job or possibly bigger lips but in reality both. Then it will be inner thighs by lypo suction removeal of fat from under the chin blah blah can see it all comming as its not her body thats the cause for low self esteem but she thinks it is.

Your friend's low self esteme was caused by her ears, you say she had them fixed and is now happy. Yet you think that a woman, whose low self esteme is caused by having much smaller than averages size boobs' probelem, wont be solved by having them fixed? I'm sorry but you're contradicting yourself by saying one is ok and the other isn't.

In edit: When I read this at 2am I read it as 'and doesn't now want.....' but having read it again I see what you're saying. I've heard that cosmetic surgery can be addictive and I do think some people think of it as a quick fix as opposed to a last resort.

I hav'nt got low self esteem now........
BUT if I had unlimited funds or spare funds that I had nothing else to spend them on I would have my underneath repaired and tidied. It has had 3 children plus a set of twins pass through it (obviously not all at the same time)....(well except for the twins)and could do with a little pruning. I would'nt rule out a little face lift later in life maybe and I would definately have my teeth straightened and whitened.
For no other reason than I'm not scared, it would make me look nicer in my opinion (and who else's counts!?)and I would'nt have to trip over my less than designer vagina every time I walk the dog

I had mine done 10 years ago, after the birth of our first child, I lost all confidence in my appearance to the point where I wouldn't let J see me naked, although he said I looked great, I felt I didn't.
After a few consultations & some sleepless nights I decided to go ahead with the Op, for me it wasn't about size, it was about shape.
The change in me was instant & have never regretted it, I would go as far as to say, if I hadn't of had the Op I certainly wouldn't have had the confidence to be on this site looking for fun with all you lovely people

Yeh sorry H-X I didnt make it that clear. Its a relative in this case and once the ear pin was done the exact same moans and whinges then arose around other parts of the body. So the ear pin made her no better it just transfered the problem in her mind else where. I believe thats cus the problem is mental not physical and no matter how much surgery she had she would always find another thing not to be happy with.

But.....
If someone is unhappy with their appearance for whatever reasons then they have to consider alterations..
Low self esteem can be a very damaging ilness and can have drastic consequences if untreated or ignored..
My sis-in-law recently had breast enlargement as she felt very unhappy with her appearence and after some discomfort and pain post op she is now a much happier person so it can and does work....
Just choose who very carefully

You must
- be realistic about the risks
- make sure you have lots of support
- be 100% sure

never use the ones on tell adverts they are not good.
they may be ok with a implant, but a lift is much harder.

now this raises a interesting point, and this is purely a question not a accusation in any way just got me thinking cause of something that was said to me the other day, keeping in mind what you have just said does that mean you only play with women who have had boob jobs, if you though you looked so bad cause you body did what nature does after giving birth that you wouldnt even let your partner see u naked do you look at other women whos boobs have gone a bit saggy and think, cover your self up woman? lol ok maybe not them words but you know what i mean, i'm just wondering how far this issue spreads with people, reason i'm asking is i've battled most of my life with my weight struggling to be the size 8 i will never be lol and the other day someone said to me dont u understand that everytime you sit there moaning about your weight and calling urself fat your insulting every women round you thats bigger than you and that kind of made me feel bad cause ive never intended to insult anyone else but myself, and to be honest even tho i'd love to be a size 8 size 8 women dont apeal to me i'd sooner meet women with a bit of meat on them which again most find odd, suppose its cause people think how can you be attracted to bigger women yet constantly moan about yourself when you smaller than the women you meet
and i suppose same goes to the boob thing, if all you women who want a boob job are attracted to women who havn't had a boob job, which i assum you must be to play with them, then why cant you look at yourself and think yeah i'm sexy as i am sod it? why do we constantly pull ourselves down for 'faults' that everyone has and mostly dont even notice on other people? Never really thought about women and boob jobs until reading this MJCupl, I naively thought it was down to vanity or due to medical reasons.
I do prefer the feel of natural breasts but, ive been caught out a few times thinking they were real so what the hell.....!
