Anyone else disappointed about Englands defeat by the Croatians tonight...Apart from the English?
Personally I would have liked to have seen England in the 2008 competition, but it is not to be, again.
Shame.

wad of liked to seen all the british teams in it, but only 1 man to blame to pick tactics like that

Over 12 games the team and the manager were simply not good enough. At least now they can hopefull get a decent manager in, who can take things further than the last two have. A shame yes indeed, but if honest not unexpected. Come on the Germans. lol
And all after we invented the game - I can remember it well :!:
Plim  sad
mcclaren was the wrong man from the start, should never off been employed by the f.a...but he was and we got what we deserved...we should off walked this group weeks ago, we should never of been put in the position of having to win/draw our last game to qualify...the undr21's have done better then the full team.
to be honest what do you expect from from a bunch of prima donnas only interested in money, the players should play just for the pride of putting on the shirt, they get enough from there own clubs and be honest i've long lost interset in the England football team,no passion,no commitment let um rot in hell!
you have 1 man at the helm but that does not make a team. The spirit and the determination to win comes from the the players and the team as a whole.
I look at the englang rugby team an yes the manager was a bit bruised by the press but in the end was ok, to be manager of the england football team is a poisen chalice period.
These guys get paid stupid money the tactics play a part i agree but these guys play for money not pride.
We lost the rugby world cup this year but we won it 4 years ago and lost by a nats wisker this year, but they get paid a fraction of our football players but have far more silver wear.
Footballs are just media stars these days... If goals were awarded for each newpaper headline recieved england would win ever cup going.
Less money, less media, less partying, more football !!
Lets see people earning there money for a change !!
They got what they deserved....
My local town team would have played with more soul and passion...
another point though.... how much money have we spent on that pitch  i have never seen it that bad for an international match ever regardless of the weather.

I commented on that at work....
You could still see the markings from the American football
Groundsman ought to be sacked as it was in terrible condition...

I thought that was quite obvious dunno .... and I dont think the pitch is any excuse for the shite performance..
you could have done a sliding tackle starting from the goal mouth, cant remember who it was but saw on england player tackle in the corner and slide for ages off the pitch  rain yes but still very very wrong
I saw 10min of play. It was a school coach's nightmare. Stop playing and hope the ref will stop play. The whole team. A ten year old can play better!
someone was telling me yesterday England losing will have a terrible affect on the economy? confused
Beer companies have seen a drop in share prices. wink
It will be terrible for the to do with your average swiss/austrian riot police, they were banking on some overtime this summer, now they wont be able to pay their mortgage and the money markets in europe will suffer like the US sub prime problem.
All in all, a bad day. wink

In the press this morning they say the economy will lose in lost sales.

All very very true, but isn't part of the problem our bizarre loyalty to certain players. This may be controversial but really most of our players have ONE thing that they do, and if they can't do it, which is most of the time, the team is nowhere.
For instance:
David Beckham - great free kicks
Steve Gerrard - great at the drop ball from several yards out in front of goal
Wayne Rooney - strength and … erm?
Don't get me wrong I know I'm overstating the point but the fact is that they're good but not great players, and we also make the mistake because we invented the game of assuming that by default we are naturally better.
Why is it that some players get picked all the time, presumably because of their celebrity status while others, Crouch for instance, struggle to get a look in. Perhaps we need a manager like Mourinho who tends to pick players on merit and not on their celebrity.
One other thing, where was Venables in the midst of all this surely he should take some of the blame?
Well at least the 'boss' has gone now. Whos next?!

As for the two amigo's mad aka mcClaren and venables, the pair of them should have resigned last night for gross misconduct of not actually knowing how to coach football :kick:

When McClaren 1st signed up as Englands manager I was devastated-my thoughts were "no way will we get anywhere with this muppet".......then........"Venables" I said :fuckinghell: what is he doing back on the scene banghead my head fell in my hands-as u do.
I had to laugh when it showed Mac just before half-time taking notes sat next to venables-did he need too, or was he writing his resignation? lol

They liked his smile  But he ain't smiling now. Too many old farts in the FA making all the wrong decisions. Sack em all, and start again. Now they have given Berbick another go, what a complete joke!!
