cats or dogs, which do you prefer

Dog person here, she is old, smelly, fluffy, she barks when she aint supposed to and doesn't when she is supposed to but she keeps my feet warm and decorates the rug in dog hairs so I cant complain to much :giggle:
She makes a damn good crumb's hoover too lol
Just DON'T let her breathe on you :scared::scared:
guess im both as we have 3 cats and 2 dogs, love em all equally
Cats
Simple reasons. Easily left when you go on holiday, that can be a real nightmare with dogs. Dont have to follow them round with a scoop and bag biggrin
Gotta be dogs...
dogs for me i tolerate cats but really not keen on them
i have a miniture yorkshire terrier thats loveable a pest and bossy shes very old nowadays but she still jumps bloody high in the air for her food
I don't like either, sorry.
Dogs.
Cat's are so anti-social. It is all about what you bring to the table for them and if you are lucky and foist hours and hours of love and attention on them, wine them, dine them and no, not that, but generally be very nice to them, they may spare you 3 minutes out of their hectic schedule when they don't turn their nose up at you, complain about what you have fed them and shit in your petunias before buggering off to roger next doors feeble excuse for a moggy before stealing their lunch.
Dog's are great. You feed them the same tired shit every single day and they love you to death for it. If you take them for a walk, they react like you would if you were promised a blow job by the Swedish Nymphomaniacal Blonde and Busty Nude Beach Volleyball squad. There a bit smelly at times, a bit needy, dolefully stupid, their shit stinks and they have an unerring ability to lick their private parts at the most inopportune of moments and they resemble me in so many other ways too, but at least they try and raise a smile out of you now and then, so I guess I am biased towards them.
We have both, but I am more of a dog lover.
Dogs, including the so called dangerous ones lol
Can we have an option for neither?
If pressed, I'd have to say a sheep dog. A proper working animal.
I can't see any point in a cat - my neighbours have them and all I get from them (the cats) is piles of shit in my garden. At least dogs are covered by law and I can make my neighbours keep them under control (if it were ever needed) - cats are allowed to do what they like.
Can I say both?
I love my boinkers jack russell very much and love my rather daft brain damaged cat as well...
They are a strange pair who dont seem to realise that dogs n cats arnt supposed to get on!! As I type they are curled up together on the rug in front of the fire biggrin
We have had both.. Dogs and cats! But now only have a mad 3 year old black labrador that thinks hes a cat at times! He tears around the house which looks so stupid but makes us all laugh. So, would have to say for us we are dog people! :-)
Dogs everytime, i always think cats look at you like the are just tolerating you, sort of corner of the eyes snidey stares lol, where as dogs cant hide the fact that they adore you and you are simply the best thing ever in their world
What about rabbits? :giggle:
Dogs though!
cats are evil, love 'em.
dogs are stupid, in a good way... brilliant.
so: cogs
or: dats
lp
Funny how many people are saying they dont get love from cats. I have had cats that cling to my arm when I try to get up out of the chair cus they just dont want me to go. Sadly the ones we have left are deranged and spend all day meoowing in the back garden rolleyes
i love cats, cant stand dogs tho they shit all over the streets and it really annoys me when their owners dont clean it up mad
cats
i love cats, all the ones iv had have been lovely and very loving pets

Should try living where I do 18 cats in a street with 13 houses and the amount of cat mess I get on my garden is stupid.
Personally I dont mind dogs had a lovely English Bull Terrior in the past, but my preference is reptiles. I have 2 bearded dragons (one which I rescued cos the previous owner hadnt a clue about looking after them) and a gecko. Also have 2 guinea pigs, 8 stick insects and a gold fish.
both
i grew up with dogs and adore them but when choosing our family pet went for cats for their independance as we didn't feel we had enough time to give to dogs and i love being owned by our cats as much as dogs

Are the stick insects food for the reptiles? (Intentionally or otherwise) bolt
I really cannot decide to be honest.
Yes dogs are so loyal, and the Alsations( wink ) I have had, have been such wonderful animals and all really part of the family.
Now though I have no dogs and we have just got a Mother and her Son ( a kitten )from the Cats Protection.
The Mother is a typical cat...feed her and give her a stroke and that is all she needs. But the kitten is a complete nutcase.
He eats almost anything including our flowers in our living room. He has had a trip in the bath as he seems to like water, and is just such a lively little thing.
I love both cats and dogs for different reasons but....would not have been or be without them.
Much better than a human eight times out of ten. lol
i love dogs, but the down side is you have to walk them even when you dont want to, you have to pick up poo and i cant stand the smell or hairs.
also if you work full time i dont know if its fair to leave a dog at home alone all day.
i have two cats, they came as kittens for the kids, i wasnt that fussed. they have been here 5 years now and it has only been this last month that one of them has ment so much to me it brings tears to my eyes.
when we got them we were told they were a boy and girl, found out after naming them they were two girls , but still have their male and female names.
the male always seemed more aloof, wouldnt bother with the humans much, never came near me.
since i have been ill he has slept outside my bedroom door everynight. has woken me if i have been sleeping when its time to take my medication, sits beside me on the sofa when im feeling lonely.
this might not sound much, but this is from the most aloof cat ive met and needs nothing in return.
so my vote goes to cats, but only mine, i dont like other peoples lol
xx fem xx

Nope lol stick insects were yet more pets I rescued lol
The Bearded Dragons eat locusts and mealworms so have 100's of them in the house as well.

EXCERPTS FROM A CAT'S DIARY
DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture...Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant.
DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors,I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair...must try this On their bed.
DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was... Not working according to plan.
DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid. My only consolation is the piece of thumb still LODGED between my teeth.
DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event, however, I could hear the noise and smell the foul odor of the glass tubes they call "beer." More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.
DAY 774 - I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird on the other hand has got to be an informant, and he speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my activities. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured. But I can wait, it is only a matter of time...

I'm a cat person.....but do love those dippy dogs too.
