I'm trying to put together a charity quiz night and need your help.
I want to do a music round where all the song titles have towns or cities in. I have thought of a few but I won't cramp your suggestions by putting down yet.
Most of the people at the quiz will be 50+ so try to think of classics from the 50s and 60's
Thanks in anticipation of a shed load of replies.
Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Hotel California by The Eagles
El Dorado by Neil Young
Lullaby Of Broadway by Ella Fitzgerald
Shangri La by (The?) Kinks
Alabama Song by David Bowie
California Dreamin by Mamas & Papas (One of my alltime favourite songs!)
24 Hours From Tulsa by Gene Pitney (I love Burt Bacharach redface)
Walking In Memphis by Marc Cohn
Do You Know The Way To San Jose by Dionne Warwick (Another Burt B favourite.)
I Left My Heart In San Francisco by Tony Bennett
Chicago or New York New York by Frank Sinatra
Rainy night in Georgia - Randy Crawford
Midnight train to Georgia - Dunno
Streets of London - Dunno
Waterloo - ABBA
No suggestions from me - just wanted to say Good Luck with the charity night
London Calling - The Clash
Indiana Wants Me - R Dean Taylor

Rotterdam - The Beautiful South
Jerusalem - The hymn

Kinki Boots by Patrick MacNee and Diana Rigg?

Be careful with Istanul (Not Constantinople), by the way, as your public will get disgruntled if they mention the latter city name (which is in the title) and don't get a point. Even if it is the same city.
Streets of Philadelphia - Bruce Springsteen
Fields of Athenry - erm.......
River of Babylon - Boney M
French Kissing in the USA - Blondie
Back in the USSR - The Beatles
Lost in France - Bonnie Tyler
Any help?

The Clash might be lost on the 50+ crowd! Still, the old geezer with the safety pin through his flat cap and bondage long johns might get it!
Fog on the Tyne.
Long Haired Lover From Liverpool.
Doing the Lambeth Walk. Oi!
White Cliffs of Dover.
Pirates of Penzance.
For the older types...
The Man From Laramie - Jimmy Young, 1951.
Cumberland Gap - Lonnie Donnegan, 1957. Not a town or city, but I'm struggling.
Tulips From Amsterdam - Max Bygraves, 1958.

I'm 43 and I was a big fan in my youth so I guess someone a few years older than me would know them. Realised late 70's so 25+years ago. OMG I'm old redface

Yes. In the same way that Sendai (also mentioned in my post) is a town that sounds a bit like "sender" inReturn To Sender, Kinki is a city in Japan that sounds a bit like "kinky" inKinky Boots.

It was a joke and was meant to be funny.
Sorry didn't mean to sound quite so abrupt.
I thought you were a clever clogs who went to brainiacs quizzes. lol
Oh Igo to brainbox quizzes... I just don't score anything!
No offence taken - apologies for hijacking the thread. In future all Symon O'Una jokes will come with canned laughter so people know that they're meant to be funny. (Or, more likely, canned head-scratching and murmurs of "that's ajoke?!")
