Christmas is coming

Well thats it the very last Bank Holiday for this year, that means christmas is on its way, so it got me thinking I wonder when I will get the first christmas card?, who will announce there party first? what naff presents will I get this year..................now theres a subject........my worst Crimbo present was the obligitory tank top knitted by my Grandma......I should of kept it because as we all know they have come back into the fashion arena...........maybe not the colours I have though!! So I thought that if we did worst and best presents it just might give us Guys and Idea of what not to get and what our partners might want.....(tounge in cheek when I typed that one!!)

Dont talk about Christmas, my kids have already been through the Argos book marking everything they want.
Worst present i ever got was a pair of pink slippers with fur in, one size to big.
Best present, well i'm hoping for a bike this year, that would make me happy.

going to do what i did last year, get pissed, stay pissed, and ignore the whole thing.
In fact... if i have the house free, i may even have a little party on decemeber the 25th night as all the pubs are closed, the tv is crap and evryone is bored stiff by then....

I am with postie on this one i hate xmas. Usually switch off about 1st December and switch back on 26th well its footie day isnt it. lol

I second that thought.
Personally I don't mind christmas, as long as it's kept in proportion. If I'm putting up decorations they go up on Christmas Eve (which is normally when I did my shopping before the Internet made it easier), and then I just concentrate on having a relaxing break from work for a few days before the real celebrations start on New Year's Eve.
Of course I do have a few family distractions - two of my Mum's brothers were born on the 26th and 27th of December, a stroke of extraordinarily bad planning on my grandparents' part.

I love the snow (fingers crossed)
It's going to be my first Christmas with me and my boys alone! No pestering ex an his missus who usually share it with us 'cos he wants to see the kids, and for the first time - and I know it will upset her greatly, I am going to ask mum and dad to come the day after and leave us to ourselves for the day. Working on getting a coal fire in and working, for then. Can't wait. Alternatively I could be India - who knows!
I'm usually so late with cards that I end up saying I'll post them after Christmas and then never do. Important things are being together - oh and the chocolate of course wink

Christmas!!!! :shock:
I am just back from a day at the beach at Wijk am Zee, girlies not wearing very much, people in the sea and a nice terrace lunch with friends and what do I see as the first post?? - CHRISTMA FGS! lol

Sorry Chadders, it is definitely still summer here and long may it continue -maybe even into October for the munch? :lol:
Christmas starts when it is dark, cold, miserable and not - repeat NOT - until then!

Totally hate Christmas,its just a way to get people to buy each other gifts they dont really need and boost the cards put it off till last minute and usually spend christmas eve in the pissing rain running around wondering what to buy.
You always have to meet family who dont give a shit and never speak to you for the rest of the year and make out yer best of mates.
Christmas is only good for an excuse to have a good party,get pissed and sneak a few snogs under the mistletoe biggrin

have to agree with freckled bird on the "christmas is more about money" front though, we just love it cos we get to spend time together and with the people we love, even if they do have NO idea about the kind of presents we REALLY want, still i cant quite imagine dear old grandma buying us a rampant rabbit can you?? :twisted:

I love Christmas.......mainly because of the kids......its not the same without!...I love putting the decorations up, but admit to getting a little sick of them before long.
Must make a note to get all my hundreds of cards ready for the last day of posting as a special treat for my postman Postie!
