hi,
i was just wondering if anyone else on here was intrested or into clarivoyants etc?
i've had a couple of readings these past two years and even i have to admit the lady i saw astonished me, she gave me names (some unusual that could'nt be guessed) and told me things that i have never told anyone else.
im due to have another reading soon and slightly nervous as ive only got into the whole swinging scene since my last read... could be quite an intresting ice breaker if she brings that up redface lol.
anyway i was really just wondering or being nosy if you like as to if anyone else had had readings etc and if they had come true or if you think that really the are just a load of rubbish.
Lou xxx
I've had readings , and do readings. I'm a big believer.
But there are ALOT of fakes out there and 9 times out of 10 its guesswork, or generalisations that will apply to you because if you want to believe what they're saying you psychologically 'fit' what's being said into your life - you can apply it to at least some aspect of your life. Fake clairvoyants are incredibly good at reading body language/ eye contact - we give more things away that we think without even realising it and someone who recognises it will pick it up straight away.
The best ones are those who have the natural gift of claivoyancy AND mediumship - they're the ones who can tell you names, and descriptions of people in your life/ past and really freak you out lol
Hi Lou
Not been to a clairvoyant myself, however, I used to work with a lot of girls who would all go together. They used to come back very positive and I think some things came true for them. I have personally experienced something’s that I can't explain.
Personally I believe that we haven’t fully explored the human mind/universe so it is quite possible that people can tap into things that modern science has yet to fully acknowledge. I personally have experienced something’s that I can't explain.
I really enjoy watching Most Haunted and other paranormal programmes. I like to try and make my own mind up as whether it is real or not. I think that if you go in with an open mind and listen to what is said but be aware that the information may be flexible in its interpretation, you should have an enjoyable time.
Also I think a reading is a snapshot in time and it is possible to alter the outcome of the reading by your future choices.
Will I be visiting one in the future? Yes I think I will do.
As a foot note I am reminded of the old cartoon when there is a fortune tellers booth and a notice saying 'closed due to unforeseen circumstances'
You might not want to go back there! rotflmao
i agree that you can meet some fakes had one who left me totally baffled and gave me no information what so ever apart that i suffer from head aches! well worth £25 of anyones money not but this last one ive seen a few times god she scared the hell out of me. she was that precise with names and details that i made my step daughter stay the night she spooked me that much.
she told me that my hubby worked for the gas board ( not the case hes a hgv idiot) later that night when i told him he confirmed that that week he had been working with the gas board cleaning pipes - now even i did'nt know that. she also gave me details of my ten year olds recent accident where he lost the sight in one eye she told me where and when and how it had happened.
i won't keep boasting her up lol but i cant wait for my next reading as long as she does'nt go into to much detail about what i get up to now. but hey if shes going to inform me of my great big lottery win who am i to stand in her way.

call me cynical if u like.. but one of the oldest forms of "magic" happens to be clairvoyancy...
im not a believer but would readily go for a reading with one of the so-called "real ones" to put it to the test....
I went with my Mum to one that was recommended by a friend. She was so spot on with family details, it was spooky  She told me things about my sons, my Dad and my marriage break up that she could not have guessed.
She did however say I was going to meet a very nice romantic man in June and he would "bring back my smile". Maybe she meant NEXT June confused
My mum also had a reading from Tony Stockwell and by God, that man is good !
I *knew* someone was going to start this thread!

This is a subject that I've been giving alot of thought to recently. I've always believed that some people are gifted, but equally so alot that think they are.
Would love to have a reading done, one day soon. Maybe we could have a chat about it one day DF?
Alleyson xxx
Happy to chat about it Alleyson, I can recommend someone fairly local too, but I personally dont read anyone I remotely know - its too easy to cheat, i only have to read back through your previous posts/ remember conversations to know stuff even you dont think you've let on  see what i mean?
If people's minds are open to it then I'll talk til the cows come home, but if you're a skeptic, its not worth my effort. I'm not even going to attempt to convince anyone, because I dont have to. wink
I had my palm read by a gipsy woman years ago, she came around the holiday camp we were on at the time. It being an all girls holiday we thought it would be a bit of a laugh, but the things she told us individually were absolutely spot on. It freaked us all out at the time as none of us were really believers.
I have since had my tarot cards read but that was so generalised and fake I almost walked out halfway through confused
Yes I do believe that there are many people who are gifted in the 'art' of clairvoyance but for every geniune there has to be a good few fakes sad

Complete con ... loada tommy tank for the easily influenced ... same goes for the 'Most Haunted' nonsense you see on TV.

Did she foresee you'd become part of the elite Pussy Posse? :lol2:
me again redface
the one i had didnt read cards she just walked around the room talking to spirits (yes i thought that was quite funny at first and pretty scarey did'nt quite fancy the idea of having dead people sitting in the same room as me) but like i said previously she was so freakly spot on i couldnt call her a fake. As she was from manchester she lives too far from me to know anything about me.

An opinion held by lots........................and the only thing answer I can give is you cant prove it doesnt happen or exist which adds far more weight to the whole unexplained arena whether it be Most Haunted, Tarot or Mediumship etc ................ For the betting population amongst the believers we have far better odds lol
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a total sceptic and the subject is an intriguing one, but I think that's a bit of a silly argument. Just because you can't totally disprove something does not mean it 'exists' ... or vice versa ...
There is actually an argument - can't remember the name of it, something like the theory of falsification - goes something like, you can never PROVE something 100%, only the high probability that you're right ... eg. The sun comes up every day ... we've seen it come up every day for centuries so it's highly likely that it'll come up tomorrow - it only takes one day when it doesn't come up to prove you wrong.
I used to get quite frustrated at people who dismissed the idea completely. I think its because I've had so many personal experiences that are spot on that I really wanted to make them "see" too! I felt I wanted to be able to prove it to them dunno But now I have the same opinion as Darkfire....

I personally don't like this programme confused
I do believe that what they show on it does happen but I really don't like the way its done. Just comes across as very false and exagerated for tv dunno Just my opinion biggrin

I once wandered into a 'psychic fair' being held in town and had a reading just for the hell of it ... it was an odd experience. The woman did say some things that were really close to home, including one thing about my parents that surprised me so much I actually started to cry! so, probably gave quite a bit away there ...
She recorded the whole thing on a cassette and gave it to me, so I played it later on when I'd calmed down (while doing the ironing). Listening back, I got the impression that she was basically a very, very observant woman, drawing sometimes spookily accurate conclusions from whatever signals, subconscious or otherwise, I was giving out. Which may not have been supernatural as such, but was still an interesting and illuminating experience. Sometimes you need a fresh eye on things, you know?
I'm still generally a skeptic, but still, I reckon I got something out of it & would maybe try again.
But 'Most Haunted' is really unconvincing!
I would love to be seen by a genuine clairevoyant......but no one has ever recommended a decent one to me - making me therefore assume they do not exsist. The one I saw years ago was rubbish and it put me off quite a bit.
I used to run Mind Body and Spirit shows with my partner, and clairvoyants are very much a part of that scene. Some are crap, some are good, a few are gifted and every once in a while you come across someone who is quite amazing.
To be honest I was a total sceptic, but willing to be proved wrong, and I have been a few times.
There are still a few of the crap ones out there tho. I stop short of saying Charlatans.
Well late to the thread, i have been doing readings for many years, and as a practising pagan (not got it right in this life yet) I am a true believer and will rattle for hours to open minded peoeple, also as an ethically trained (that should get some arguments going) hypnotherapist, i have also done past life regression work, which i find sooooo interesting, probably could start another thread with that. I have known some outstanding clairvoyants, but I have never managed to get a professional reading done form myself, it always comes out for someone close to me...very strange, however one of my favourite packs of cards are the Egyptian Cartouche cards, they are amazing, but I find the I Ching cards very open..they even convince sceptics!
I do not believe in this at all.......but I do have a habit of IDing the bad guy. I put it down to behavioural analysis. As for gaining information from people, it is a game, I tell them what I know and let then tell me what they thing I know, then feed it all back.
Then again am I clairvoyant
im far too cynical to even comtemplate going to one
