When somebody takes the time to answer an ad I would have thought it was common decency to reply even if the person IS NOTwhat you were looking for. All you have to say is Thanks But No Thanks. it only takes a minute.

It does only take a minute to reply and I do agree that it is common curtousy for people to reply but I can understand why a lot of people are not replying.
1. They may not have been back on line since you sent the message and therefore not had chance to reply,
2. Some members are presently getting over 100 pm's a day even though a lot of us clearly state that we do not want people to message us for meets.
So it may be that you were just the message too many! If you are really keen to get involved, then get yourself known in the forums rather than just sending messages, let people see your personality, have a laugh with us and then get your name down for one of the many socials which are always being organised.
But the best advice I give is be patient and remember, you only get back from this site what you put in it, give 'us' the chance to get to know you and I am sure that before long you will wonder what you did before you joined the forums

Well that depends.....if you reply to the right ads,we received an e-mail from a single guy when it says we only want to meet couples.....we didn't reply back!!
You are right but I have just found that I have become ms popular without trying with guys saying "like your ad" when I havent got one :shock: :shock: so sorry I wont be replying as I am not looking to meet at the moment. Now I always reply to people who just want a chat which is great especially if it make me laugh or shows interest in what I may have posted on here. I think guys or gals who just say "wanna shag" they get the replies they should expect - as a percentage I would expect about 90% of their mails will be ignored lol

Ive had loads and have politely said no In most of them........But
on the other hand ..did you reply to an ad that wasnt asking for single guys......because if you have, then its an intrusion...and they wont reply...and I dont blame them
Plus have you checked your sent folder to see if its been read? Chance is they havent picked it up yet

But was it an actual ad, or have you just seen someones profile? The two things are TOTALLY different.
I DON'T have an ad on here, my profile clearly states that I am part of a couple, and NOT looking for anything at the moment, but I still get 30+ PM's a day from guys treating me as a single female and some easy lay who will jump when they snap their fingers. Do I answer them? Do I FUCK!
Yes they are ads and yes they have been read and I only reply to those asking for single male as I now don't have a partner to swing with . When I did we always replied to every single message we got.
Have to say I did not realise that new members now had to pay untill Janeandwill mentioned it in this thread. Thanks to them for that information

Since the site features were linked up last week many people did NOT even have an ad who were on the forum and we still got the MOANS on the forum - why? As has been suggested many times before and in this thread please don't just stick in the ads come and join in here on the forums and get to know the wappy sense of humour that exists out here. Let us get to know you through your posts and get yourself along to one of the socials and meet us all and maybe network contacts through the Munch/social system.

I`m a reletivly new poster to this site but I can only echo what this lady says as the the site has gone through a major upheaval recently, much to, in some cases,some annoyance to some of the original site members, so please tread carefully until things settle down.
To be quite honest... I don't have an ad, yet do keep finding "I am replying to your ad" in my inbox - so if someone sends me a load of bollocks (cold-calling) in a PM, it either gets deleted or I send a load of sarcastic bollocks back.
If someone asks a question or is genuinely trying to just have a chat - I reply.

It seems obvious that some folk are being swamped with unwanted mail and faced with trawling through it all I'm not surprised that they dont respond.
However I do agree that if you've made the appropriate effort to reply to an ad then I for one would hope for a "thanks but no thanks" rather than nothing.
I've been a member of another site which had a filtering system on the mail so that unwanted attention could be removed from the inbox. one for the wish list maybe ?

Very true, but if someone isn't what you're looking for i.e. they're a bloke replying to an ad asking for couples, or an 18 year old replying to an ad stating age 35-45 or any of the various types of "not what you're looking for" - why should you reply?
I've replied to everyone who has ever responded to my ads and not everyone accepts No Thanks with good grace

Must admit I dont respond to p'ms that follow the pattern "responding to your ad do you want a shag" I dont have an ad I have a profile, and to be honest if someone was to say something to me like that in a pub they would not get the time of day either. A bit of common courtesy goes an awful long way!
