I heard on the radio yesterday that The Police are reforming and touring again. Being of a certain age they were the first band I ever really liked. I've never been one for going to concerts but it has always been a bit of a disappointment to me that I never saw them live.
Which bands/performers would you like to see that are no longer performing?
oh wow what a good topic!
Heres my list
Blur- although once the new album comes out i'm sure they will be touring
The Who- The original line up, a bit difficult to pull off that!
The Rollingstones- The original line up
The Rat Pack
I've never been one for going to concerts but it has always been a bit of a disappointment to me that I never saw them live.
go and see them then rolleyes
ooooooh....
other that seeing the beatles reform which obviously can't happen,
It would have been The Who before live 8....
now for me then one band that i would love to see reform would be the stone roses.. mani keep saying that will happen the day after "man city win the european cup"

i never saw thin lizzy as i was too young in the mid 70s/ early 80s and queen is another great band ive only seen on dvd/ video although i did see the recent gigs with paul rodgers on vocals and it was good.
i also agree on the police im going to see them when they tour, cream (this is the era when eric clapton was good !!)peter green's fleetwood mac, rory gallagher, of course the guvnor jimmi hendrix, the beatles, the original line up of the who .
brotherhood of man, peter and lee, pinky and perky, nana mouskori , jim reeves oh the list is endless .
biggest concert regret is not seeing Queen while Freddie Mercury was still alive
got see my favourite band a few years ago (The Eagles), but The Police is a band id like to go and see, i dont think they will put on a show, like other bands could, but i love their music
if youve never been to a concert go and see them you'll love it

I regret never seeing Queen as well.
Opening the subject out a bit. I would have loved to have seen The Marx Brothers live. I love their films but always feel they are a watered down version of what they did live.
Only one- Queen, with Freddie
The Beatles
Queen
Nirvana!

Queen with Paul Rogers
I saw them at Hyde Park a couple of years ago, was a good concert, support acts were Razorlight and Peter Kay, and it was held shortly after the July 7th bombings, and all the people from the emergency services who attended the incidents were given a free ticket to the concert by Queen
That, and the music, made for quite an emotional atmosphere, there was many grown people crying, was quite a moment
I would love to have seen The Who.... loved their early stuff!! Nirvarna, yeahhhh oh so many concerts I wished I could have gone to!!
Ive only ever been to one and that was last year.. UB40, not my most fav band but they played a brilliant intro piece and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Must get out more.....

yupyup... have to agree there Kiss...
had an opportunity too, though was too *out of it* to get my act together in those days:doh:
I was lucky enough to see Queen when I was about 16.. brilliant show
and Thin Lizzy was mentioned also... caught them, just in time too... fantastic... even though it was in Coventry I believe
Pink Floyd.... wanted desperately to catch the Wall tour... no joy, but a few years later... Wembley Stadium... fantastic!
There's a NIN tour impending... I'm wondering whether to get in on that... before it becomes a *missed opportunity*
lp
Wham!!! bolt
Only kidding.... Adam and the Ants, Spandau Ballet, Culture Club, Duran Duran, nearly all of the 80's I guess. Most didn't really split they've just got older and don't play so much. Europe is playing in Newcastle shortly, that should be good
Does any one wish we could turn back time 20 years?
Oh and what ever happened to Tight Fit? haha
lol
blimey.... how could I have forgotten Led Zepconfused: :?: :?: now that was morrrre than annoying to have missed them.... *dazed & confused* dunno
lp
oh yes... and the Ant's !
Souxie... shoot... he list is growing!...help :?:
They all keep reforming and playing the retro circuit so I have managed to see most of the bands I missed first time around fairly recently-ish - Human League, John Foxx, Bauhaus, The Cure, Soft Cell on thier reunion tour thingy (though I've seen Marc live solo several million times), even Sisters of Mercy... but of the bands I really want to see again who I haven't seen since thier heyday I would say The Cramps, who I adore.
Would I want to turn the clock back though? Not really - all these people are still going and thier age is really no issue, so long as they remain irresponsible smile
Would like to have been present at the first performance of Beethoven's Choral Symphony in 1816 - in the presence of the composer. Wow! surprised
