best has to be meetloaf @ nec in november 93 on stage for 3 hours fantastic
worst Michael Jackson @ aintree race course in about 87 stood about 1/4 mile from stage in muddy field with 250000 other idiots the sound was terriblle the only redeming thing was seeing a very sexy Kim Wilde who was the support act on the big screen

Live music is always the best - but i don't really enjoy the big stadium stuff.
Did Robbie at Knebworth for ASH (greta band) and atmosphere was electric - but my fave gigs are smaller ones - Brixton Academy is about the biggest I enjoy.

The Cluny, Newcastle - The Animals (well, one Animal, one Creedence Clearwater Revival and two unknowns :shock: )
But really most concerts I've gone to have been brilliant - oh, except Del Amitri at Newcastle Riverside. Only concert I've walked out of.

Its a hard decision for me. I used to work in radio back in Canada and was privy to a lot of concerts. We were contracted to DJ in a night club affiliated with the station and I've seen Meatloaf play 20 times ish and each time more exciting and wonderful than the last. Incidentally, even though he's an arrogant twat, he's a performer, through n through.
I've seen Van Halen twice, (Hagar and Roth), Genesis, Rush, Bryan Adams, G 'n' R, Alanis Morisette, The Cult and even hit Brighton Beach to see Boy Slim spin some tunes to a quarter of a million people to name a few (and name drop, he he he) but the BEST lives acts I have ever experienced have been with G. We found out we both had a taste for local Gigs and never miss a few of our favorites. Celtic Pride, Dirty Earth and we even caught the Hamsters in Watford. In a couple of words........FUCKING AWESOME!

Should have mentioned Brian Wilson's Smile Shows last year, they were very emotional, mans a genius.

Oh totally!!! I saw him soem years ago at Wembley arena and he stopped the concert to tell the people in the front rows that he didn't care how much they had paid - if they weren't going to at least look like they were enjoying it he'd swap them with some of us poorer lot at the back. Pretty rehearsed I am sure - but did get our support. And it was a fantastic evening!!!

I can't stand stadium stuff. The atmos is crap. I like to see bands in small venues.

One of my faves (the Pecadilloes) was excellent live in small venue, but their album was one of the most returned ever!!
They changed their style to meet a commercial audience and they flopped :cry:

By far the best I've ever been to was Madonna - Re-invention Tour (probably cos I have all sorts of fantasies about her and have loved here forever)
Also, Kylie is always great in concert and went to the latest (current) Elton John tour, with backstage passes and that was fabulous (free bar)
I guess I'm a bit of a pop princess, but may go to REM which will be a change for me.
I've not really been to a bad concert, I guess I've been lucky!

Agreed Madonna is pretty fantastic live, reinvention was great, but just a bit too choregaraphed and lacked a bit of spontanaiety

In earlier life, used to be a sparky/sound engineer to one of the big PA companys, so have worked on some big concerts, fav was Pink Floyd, yes worked the one in earls court when the seating colapsed, also done Madness, and worked on the queen tribute concert.

Best concerts have been: Red Hot Chili Peppers in Hyde Park, Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, Madonna 3 tiimes, Rolling Stones, Billy Idol, Anastacia.
Cant say Ive been to any bad concerts really, although i wasnt that impressed with James Brown who was on before the Chili's.
