Dave Matthews version of Wild Horses is amazing too biggrin
Brucie ..Nick caves best cover is of Leonard Cohens Tower of Song...but he did a whole album of covers ..Kicking Against the Pricks..I highly recommend, it he is a genius both as a writer and more pertinently an interpreter of songs....

Sorry but I must challenge this...Def Leppard are the worst band in the whole history of music and are incapable of making a decent record...and they are NOT from Sheffield we excomunicated them
Can't see the fascination with Nick Cave, Tom Waits is much better.

I'd agree on the album, but my favourite cover of his is Johnny Cash's 'The Singer' - and Johnny Cash's best cover is Nick Cave's The Mercy Seat though he does make a really dull NiN song compelling...
Another good Leonard Cohen cover is Fatima Mansions version of A Singer Must Die.

Arguing about Austrian painters with Morrissey. Worried I crossed the line when I got flustered, exclaimed "Schiele take a bow!" and fled.
Tasting the new summer menu at Murder Salads -- love the bone-shaped crostini topping the Henry Leek soup.

For that most obscure of obscure tracks for the very zenith of oddity gothicpunk has set the bar high with the Crass cover so I may be sometime.
I did look at the tweeting....are you sure it's parody? I'd imagined Mr Caves' life just like that. biggrin
not exactly a cover, because the Man was there, but came across this and thought of our very own GothicPunk.
enjoy

That's Numan :}
By the time that tour hit the States Nthey were doing 4 Numan songs, and a cover of Gang of 4's 'Anthrax' with Numan on vocals

I saw NiN on this tour in Manchester and though they did cover 'Metal' it was without Numan, so I was a bit peeved when he basically tagged onto the rest of the tour. I'm not a huge NiN fan, I only like about 5 of thier songs and had mainly gone to see Jane's Addiction so I could lust over Perry Farrell... but yeah. This is all good stuff smile
ahem.
that'll be Numan then
