What dances do you know?
Bloke and I are practising The Slosh for Wigan Munch... (fear not, it will be completely cocktail-fuelled and utterly disco-tastic :gigglesmile and other people's suggestions on the thread got me thinking.
Do you know The Bump or The Hucklebuck or The Hustle? Did you do a mean Locomotion or are you more a Conga type?
What happened to all those dances? I'll admit, I'd never heard of The Hucklebuck dunno
Is there a song guaranteed to get you up dancing or are you strictly rooted to your seat?
I don't know any dances. we did country dancing at school - I was tall so I took the male part. Of course that meant it was impossible for me to dance with a male. I did Salsa but gave it up when I trod on the teacher. So dancing clearly isn't for me. LOL
I'm not aware that there are any 'modern dances' as such since the 70's. Nothing formalised into steps I mean. dunno
There's only one song that has a vague chance of make me dance... and everyone knows I never dance which is why I'm not telling you what it is!!
:giggle:
I absolutely love dancing.. Sex is the only thing I prefer doing with other people.I love a good dancer. I love someone who knows what they are doing when they dancing with me.
Worlass and I danced at our 'engagement party' which was a miracle as worlass has two left feet. I think we pulled if off tho'
I remember watching a film once called "Shag". I really was more than a touch disappointed when it turned out to be about some kind of dance.
As for actually dancing - only when drunk and generally only to house, trance, drum n bass and hip hop - all types of music that usually require at least a modicum of darkness.
I don't like people watching me... dance.

Play the Macarena at me and I'll be off to find another establishment to party down in. There's just no excuse.

Or dancing like no-one is watching! :giggle:
Im a sucker for the cheesy songs with actions records...agadoo, macarena, cha cha slide, time warp, superman, music man etc etc and they always get me up at do's
Did learn the Gay Gordon at school in P.E, and took ballroom dancing lessons with Mr B about 15 years ago, learning the waltz, square tango, cha cha, rumba, bossa nova, quick step and foxtrot....couldnt remember a single one of them now tho.
I do remember it was a good laugh and even he enjoyed it! lol

i'll dance to anything that has a good beat really. but it has to be said that finding a guy who can really dirty dance with you is like finding rocking horse muck.

I have dated guys purely on the basis of their dancing abilities... I was quite fickle as a young'un! :giggle:
I love dancing - not particularly good it but I don't care as long as I enjoy it.
I used to do Le Roc classes and just been looking into it again - but alas none near me any more  I did find Salsa classes tho - so that will have to do!! biggrin
Mrs Bone - the Gay Gordon's brought back some memories :D We learnt Scots dancing at school too - that was fun.
Ps. Nothing worse than a guy who won't/can't dance :lol2:
Hmm, dancing.
I usually do the "wallflower" bit, but it has been known for me to get on the floor- all on my lonesome- as everyone else got off when the Timewarp came on.
Whatever I try to do on the dancefloor ends up looking dirty. I'm all "from the hip." I swear my hips don't act like normal peoples. confused??: I simply cannot dance without it looking stupidly provocative.
I can salsa a little bit. That's possibly the style that suits me best.
One of my fondest memories is the exchange of "looks" twixt myself and the wonderful, but sadly missing Stormwalker, watching in bewilderment as Splendips headbanged, Flizzard bopped, and my partner old skool raved...all to the same song. Carnage. lol
i love dancing i just dont do enough of it anymore
id love to do salsa classes but no one to go with, i loved line dancing, i am going back to bellydancing tomorrow night after a break of a few years, i'd rather dance than do gym exercise
love dancing round the house like a tw*t when cleaning normally in heels n underwear (sorry for that image) lol wink
:karaoke: Sing with me people....
Ooo, ooo, ooo, ahh, ahh, ahh, ooooo0000oooo0000ooooo00ooo
Ooo, ooo, ooo, ahh, ahh, ahh, ooooo0000oooo0000ooooo00ooo
I'm in the mood for dancing, romancing, I'm giving it all tonight!
*does the funky chicken*
I really enjoy dancing. I am usually the first one up and the last one sat down if the music flowing is good and my shoes are sensible. Nearly always I can dance in my shoes and they're not worn these days if I can't break into a little shuffle, shimmy and swivel action on the dance floor! Dad taught me to jive and I love doing that when older music comes on, unfortunately Neil hasn't quite got the hang of it yet, but he will. smile
I've been taught to bogle by some young things I know and they laughed no end until I managed to wind my booty to the floor and back up without falling over! Shakira eat your heart out! ;) lol I've been known to 'do the Bez' on a night out or two, or end up moshing!
More recently, I've become a little bit more side step in a circle kind of dancer, because that's what happens at family parties!

I didn't know it had a name!
You need to do us some lessons Gem... Bloke can do his Night Fever routine, Earthy can teach us to bellydance and you can teach us to bogle and jive!
Now that'd have the makings of a very fun night... wink
Sounds like a fabby night! :bounce:

Neil hasn't quite got the hang of it yet, but he will.

Lies! I can dance, I can I tell you! evil You might have a point on the whole jiving thing, but you put on some mid-80s Goth standards, I can do the body-bashing chicken dance with the best of 'em. :smug: Put on some early 90s techno, well you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that can throw shapes like a bleedin' lunatic quite as good as me, oh yes. smile
*big fish, little fish, rar, rar, rar . . . . *
N x x x ;)

Now you're in my area there Nellie wink
Big fish, Little fish, carboard boxes, feeding chickens and bouncy knees...how many people realise its possible to dance for a good eight hours without your feet moving once? :haha:
TBH I'd rather shove broken glass up my arse while pulling out my pubic hair with tweezers.
In case you hadn't guessed its a can't dance (unless it like Neil and Meaty and there's 300+people and they're all 'off their faces'), don't enjoy it, so won't dance. evil

It's gotta be 'The Timewarp'.
Im betting on the Okie Cokie.
i love dancing although dont have great coordination, ive been to classes for ballroom/latin, belly, african and even tried pole dancing but just ended up black and blue:borg: but my all time favourite has to be burlesque dancing as it makes you feel really sexy, i even learnt to lap dance which i demonstrated at a leeds social last year, mind had to have a few drinks first lol
