We're only 3 months away from the World Cup and Darkfire wants to throw all the football threads into the SH bottomless pit and I'm sure others would agree (dammie certainly will). :shock:
Now whilst I understand you don't want a debate or commentary from every match to discuss:
Should he have been sent off?
Was that off side?
I think there is a place for a football thread every now and then, so I thought I'd start the run up to the World Cup by trying to Educate Darkfire and others that there is a benefit to this biggrin

Now Darkfire I know you prefer Rugby, but even you must see something you like here:

The offside rule explained for girls .....................
You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have.
The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire.
Both of you have forgotten your purses.
It would be totally rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes.
The shop assistant remains at the till waiting.
Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma.
She prepares to throw her purse to you.
If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes.
At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and, whilst it is in flight* you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes.
However until the purse had *actually been thrown* you are not allowed to move in front of the other shopper - (otherwise you would be 'Offside')...

You are ....... if the shop assistant moves between you and your friend then she must be behind you (your friend is at the back of the shop) ....... there has to be a shop assistant and another shopper between you and the shoes or else you could just steal the shoes ........ that would be offside.
