one word,,bidmonkey,,I rest my case cool
Another one... addicted rolleyes
I never ever ever bid with a high proxy bid unless I have to ie I am going out etc as there are so many dodgy sellers these days who have a 2nd id or get a mate to bid to miss your proxy up higher so they get a max price, sad but true.
At the end of the day it doesnt matter when you bid...be it early or late at the end of the day the highest will win so as someone said why advertise there is competition if you really want something?
I also go for the last minute snip normally in the last 20/30 seconds and always do it manually as I can never seem to win on those snip things....I love it that a few people have been bickering at each other with silly bids and you go in at the end with a decent price and take it in the last 20 seconds smile
H "the ebay snipe queen" wink
Nasty little program called BidSage works a treat for me.
Just put in your maximum bid and time before the end of the auction and it will go in and snipe it for you... if you are on a broadband connection 8secs seems to be bout the best time. Leaves very little time for someone else to get in to it.
I know, I know you shouldnt be a sniper, but with the arseholes out there that are willing to go to expensive lengths to out bid you on an item that you may have been waiting on for weeks, it ends up being the only option if you want to get that item.
Also, note, if you really want it, DO NOT put in an initial bid. Just wait and snipe it out at the last minute. If there are people watching it and you place an initial bid, they will be sitting there waiting for the end in order to out bid you.
Hope that helps..

I bid 11p on a film, starting price of 1p and someone outbid me with a couple of hours to go. So I just pushed the bid up and up to there maximum - thought I was going to have to pay nearly £8 for a film that I could buy brand new on for half that, but with all the activity, someone must have thought it a good film and outbid me. I've not been on ebay for ages due to work commitments, but I'm going to be back again selling stuff - mainly videos/dvd's - not adult ones.
I'm the same as Lucy, i'm a seller on e-bay with over 1500 feedback and i just
love snipers!
I remember last year visiting a flea market in Leicester and buying an Eddie Izzard
book for £1
I sold it to an Aussie for £55! Gorg!
