How many email addresses do you have ??
I have one for each of my ebay accounts.
One for swinging sites.
A spare for swinging sites so that I can talk to people without Mrs f knowing wink
A couple of spare business addresses that I can give out in an emergency
And
Mine ...... My own private address that is only given to close friends and family never receives any spam !!
How many do you have ??
Do you use your real address on sex sites ?
Do you give out facebook details to people you have never met ??
OOOOO I just threw that last one in cos it came into me head lol

I only have one e mail addy. Always been that way.
My password always the same too, until my ex started looking at my mail on here, without me knowing.
A silly thing to do I know. It has now been changed. mad
erm...one, and i give it to anyone that asks me for it
Apart from the one I needed to set up on Freecycle- I only have the one.
I have a number of email addies...
One that's my 'glassy name' for arty/glass type forums I belong to, plus Ebay/esty!
My personal one for family/friends etc - have two work ones which I still use to keep in contact with ex colleagues and up to date with what's happening in my previous work field - two swing/fetish types.
I rarely add anyone to my real name face book from any site unless I have known them for quite a while, met them in person etc.

The domains are for websites, two of which are live, so I need loads e.g. Admin@, Registrations@, me@, and so on.

same here, i have 5 accounts and two domains, one with 2 addresses and one with 4, all of these go to one of the accounts to make it easier though redface
6 domains, numerous sub-domains plus my ISP account and I run my own mail server so technically I have unlimited email addresses but tend to use just about 7 or 8.
I dont know how you lot cope with all these email addys. I would get sooooo lost and muddled up.

The trick is not to use a web browser for your mail. If you use a decent email client then all it takes is some basic filtering.
I like 777 also only have the one.

Outlook for me
But web based email addies offer greater annonymity.

And greater chance of getting your mail lost, especially if they have attachments.
Ah, attachments, that's another reason not to use generic email addresses. There is a limit to how large an email will be accepted.
And personally I wouldn't allow my email anywhere near a Microsoft application.

Ah, email addresses. The bane of my work life.
It has nothing to do with you have a web based email address that can make your email suddenly go missing. It's who your with. You can setup a account to be picked up by your outlook but that means nothing when actually don't accept the email (happens a lot more often than what you would think). The same goes for ISP's emails. In short, there is no perfect email solution out at the moment. The standards are too lax, filters are not intelligent enough and spam will always find a way.
If you're happy with what you have at the moment, don't change it.
Myself I create a new email address for every website I register with. I have different passwords for each and they are all easily remembered. Not many people include the website address into their email, which makes spam ware hard to guess it.
An example of how to create an easily rememborable setup:
would be an example of an email address - username. The password could be something similar: swinging123456heaven there you can change the website address per registration and you already have a very secure, if basic password setup already.
PS:
yes I am a little tipsy, but I stand by the advice and methods.

Ah, but you forget the benefits and luxuries of having one's own dedicated mail server running from one's own computer in one's own office.
Everything logged so you know if stuff goes missing, set your own quotas so someone sending you a 10mb audio file doesn't get it bounced right back to them, total control over who can connect to you and who can't, you know your mail is secure and no-one else can read it... the list goes on.
Okay so you need some techy knowledge but it's not brain surgery and can easily be learned.
I have
1 at work
1 for freind and family
1 with a phone company it came free
and 1 for those people and companies I do not wish to hear from again, I never open it.
