What a day yesterday... went to London with my other half for the day, and because of problems due to the lorries in the centre, we could only go as far as Shepards Bush... We needed to get to Marble Arch. The only way to get there was a bus ride which would have taken another hour, or the underground.
Well, I have a fear of enclosed spaces.. I don't even like lifts! My other half is aware of this, and asked me if I was sure. Anyway we went to the underground and got tickets.. my poor old heart going into overdrive.. we got into the lift and as the door closed he said "we're all going to die!" Don't worry I got him back...
When we got down to the underground I was shaking like a leaf.. luckily a train was there and we got straight on so I didn't have to worry.. I used distraction techniques to stop feeling so anxious.. He was being rude.. so I turned round and said "is that a PDA in your pocket or are you pleased to see me?"
He couldn't stop laughing.. and I said it just loud enough for the people near us to hear.. they were all killing themselves laughing... and my other half couldn't stop!!!
Anyway, it lightened the mood, and I managed to face my fear, and don't feel half as bad now... thanks hunie for giving me the confidence... I'm quite proud of myself!
Anyway, off for my bath.. got a long day....
Hope everyone has a good day!!
PS honey... shall we go and find a few more escilators today...
Thanks Whips!!! feeling pretty good today and because of the extra walking had a dreamless sleep last night was tired out!
I'm scared of spiders too... but now I do a lot of gardening my fear isn't as bad - but big'uns give me the willies still...
Hope your day is good!!
wink
That churning gut crunching feeling of doing something we fear. It takes a lot to go ahead and do it, does it not. The only thing that still holds that kind of fear for me is standing on a high edge and looking down. I go and do that sometimes just to make sure I still can.
Well done!
Travis
Thanks Travis! feeling really good about myself today! Have a good day xx
Well done YOU!!!how great does it feel after you relailsed that you did it... and the sky didnt fall down and the earth didnt eat you up!!! im so proud of you honey .. next fear to face is your dreams !
mwah mwah xxxxxxxxxx
Well done you Kitty!
I have the same fear of enclosed spaces and to hide it I usually put a stupid grin on my face that makes me look like an extra from Wallace and Gromit confused though inside my tummy is churning.
Good on you for doing it, proud of you hun kiss
What a lovely story!
I can't wait for next month's crimewatch when they report a strange lady on the underground making sexual remarks in public!...
"have YOU seen this lady?.... give is a call!"
I hope you can manage to keep overcoming your fear... the London Underground is a fascinating place to see all manner of folks!
Even naughty old men fondling their PDA's.... brings a whole new meaning to 'Palm'
Toodle pip!

Well done Kitty – I think we’re all proud of you . Do you think you will be OK to try it again ?? I always found when I went to London that it was good to park on the outskirts and take the tube to avoid the traffic, and with congestion charges its probably even cheaper to do it that way. But very well done to both of you.
hahahah!!!!!!!!!!! you made me swallow me coffee down the wrong hole!!! love it.. lol xx
Thank you all for your support - it really has made me feel better about myself!
And yes.. my other half does tend to get his PDA out at the most inopertune times... cool
