Monty Python and the Goons are classics I was brought up on.
More modern stuff I like includes Peter Kay, Vic and Bob until they went a bit sad recently, the Fast Show, Bo Selecta (the bear and his knob lol ), Father Ted was fantastic, I still laugh even though I've seen it a hundred times! Johnny Vegas is funny as fuck too, what a sweetie biggrin Oh and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Mark Lamarr, Phil Jupitus and Bill Bailey are hilarious!
So so many, but off the top of me head
black books
soap
time gentlemen please
drop the dead donkey
an audience with billy connolly
and loads more that I can't think of because my brain's been slowwed by some beer and two bottles of merlot
lol
Love 'Pheonix Nights' and 'The League of Gentelmen' , but have to say 'The Peep Show', 'Spaced' and the animated 'Monkey Dust' are among my favorites.
LC lol
The young ones, Spaced, max and paddy, little britain and still game are all excellent.
Anything with Rab Nesbitt and Elaine C Smith just cracks us up also.
So many others but these spring to mind.
G & D x
Black Books
A Bit of Fry and Lawrie
Scrubs
Dead Ringers

I am the ONLY gay in the village!!
Am i the only one who thinks Little Britain is a pile of crap?
same old tired, repetative un-funny jokes and sketches.
i also thought that The Office was very very overated.
now, Stella Street was truely brilliant.
perhaps i'm just a miserable git.
anything by peter kay,and the simpsons we all love it from the babies to me(old git)

Hooray, someone agrees with me at last - no, london guy, you are not alone. It's about one per cent as funny as "The Fast Show".
Mike.
I love comedy!
Shows:
Alan Partridge
Brass Eye
The day today
Fast Show
Peep Show
Phoenix Nights
The Office
Monkey Dust (especially the 'what have you really been doing' man lol )
The Mary Whitehouse experience
South Park
My all time favourite in the whole world ever is The Simpsons.
Comedians:
Eddie Izzard
Ricky Gervais... but most of all....
Bill Hicks - the man was a genius, and had important things to say. If you've not heard of him - hunt him out. He died early nineties, but is still relevant today.
"if you're on acid and think you can fly, take off from the ground moron"

We also got quite drawn into this...particularly its surreal qualities. Soundtrack is also excellent.
Not very contemporary I know, but I always have time for Laurel and Hardy, cleverly stupid.

In a word, "Yes."
But why hasn't anyone mentioned The Mighty Boosh yet?! Was one of my favourites from the original Radio 4 series, but the migration to TV was utterly brilliant as well!
By far, my all-time favourite character was Rudy...

..."I'll take you there, but I can only go so far."
lol
