Do you feel the need to post in every thread that appears in the forum or do you just pick and choose the one`s that interest you ?

Hmmm.... Interesting topic...
But I don't feel the need to post a reply to it... lol
No, actually, these days I tend to reply to topics involving people I know and like. Generally, I now stick to factual comments, or rather stupid ones.
In the past, I used to reply to topics I had an interest in, but now no longer do that as a matter of course. I will often now stop myself posting in a thread if I see that certain other people have already posted in it.
Weird, eh? smile

Personally...(This being Mr flower) lol
I just chose me moments ....I comment here and there
!!

I comment in threads that interest me or I like the subject matter.
However...
I have learnt my lesson NEVER to post in certain folks threads because whatever you say they always bitch mad back at you, and not just me either
Others think they are the Queens of everything and try to belittle anyone who has an opposing view...
Whilst others find everything and anything offensive...
Then there are those that are going for the prize...
The most amount of posts by a single person in the shortest amount of time (hello wave you know who you are ) who add to every post they can...
Life is so diverse isn't it?
I've never 'bitched' back atcha De_Sade and you rarely post on my threads, we've never had a falling out. I think in the early days we didn't always see eye to eye on a few things but that's life in the forum - it's normal!
Here's a little dig tho - this thread is about your preference to which threads you post on ... not people's posting styles bolt , there seems to be a bit of rumbling mutiny going down at the minute. sad
I know a lot of people feel the need to post on a lot of topics because they want to bump up there forum score. (Based only on posts made)
A lot of forum are now using different scoring system. Some people are scored on the usefulness of the topic or post as well as the quantity of posts.
I find alot of the forums with these more advanced scoring systems are a lot more useful as you can see which people are proper contributers and which ones use randomly post etc.
I wish they would consider taking away the post count from the front screen as they did for a while back..... because I think that took away those who would just post for the reason of bumping themselves up..........
I look at a thread... if i feel there is something i can contribute to it I will.... if not I don't, but sometimes I do think "well what was the point of that"
post count junkies tend to burn themselves out anyway.....they come and they go and someone else will replace them......
Quality over Quantity anyday of the week... even though most of mine is drivel!!!!!
lol

how does that work then? I presume as it would be entirely subjective it would be just as relevent as a post count that is here.
I have the ability to form my own opinion on posts. A scoring system won't change that.
I don't believe there are any prizes for being here?
to the OP. I post where I like, when I like and what I like. What others do I couldn't care less.
I flirt sometimes..sometimes I am serious. I pay a lot of money to be here and I make the most of it.

I could go into a lot of detail on how these forum systems work etc, but I am very sure that people do no want to read pages and pages of technical rubbish.. But I could point you to a few of the forum that use the more advance systems if you would like.. But I will only do that on request as I do not feel it is right for me to use this topic to advertise other sites etc..
Is this a trick question?? those who answer feel inclined to answer every post?? lol
i post on most threads not because i feel i have to but because they interest me
I post so I can use the emoticons lol
and I also post on the ones purely that either interest me, or that I have experience of.
For instance I probably wouldnt open a thread about BDSM because i neither have any experience nor any interest in it, but having said that I just realised that if I didnt, that may blinker me about it, so now maybe I would just to take a peek and gain some insight into it.
We post in the ones that interest us :smile2:
Though we (sword) steer clear of some of the posts as they just go over my head redface
I tend to post in a thread if I spontaneously come up with something, which is what I am doing now. Although I haven't actually said anything worthwhile.
But then I also post because its easy to do and its comforting to have a say. But that's usually just as vacuous and pointless as the above.
Now should I post something really juicy and meaningfull? Hmmmmmmmmm..........

OMG at last I know what that means...its Original Poster!!!! yeyyy I've spent months wondering what the feck people were on about rolleyes
My answer to the original poster is no by the way. I post in threads that I have an opinion on the subject matter, threads that have a post in them that I just have to reply to and also threads that have been started by someone that I feel might need abit of support at that time (even if the topic does'nt interest me that much)

No... I've been a SH member for a few years now and hardly got to 400 posts (although I admit that I tend to go awol from time to time).
Threads that seem to be just full of people congratulating each other bore me. Having said that I am fascinated by some of the more lively forum debates - it is always easier to learn from other people's mistakes!
The problem with me is that I always fail to post my opinion before I read other peoples' which invarably ends up in me not being quite sure what I think! rolleyes
Maybe there should be a Forum equivalent of a 'wink' biggrin
