Hi, I want to get any ladies out there to give your opinion about male vs. female fetishes. I sometimes get the feeling that when women talk of the dirty kinky little things they like, they are received more naturally than when men attempt the same thing. When a guy says that he likes to cum on your stockings or watch you masturbate, do you ladies automatically picture some kind of perverted recluse?
The point here isn't to start some mini gender war. So if you don't have anything mature to say, save us all some time and don't bother.
Give me your thoughts...
Hello and :welcome: to the forum.
Right, now, at the risk of sounding like I'm starting a "mini gender war", I wasn't aware there were male and female fetishes? dunno I just thought there were fetishes and people were into them.
But hey, maybe I'm wrong.
As for whether women being into fetishes is any more acceptable than men: no, I don't think there's any difference. I don't have a problem with people being into a certain thing sexually, although obviously I'd prefer to associate with folk who were into the legal stuff rather than the dubious  stuff.
I think that recently, prompted by reading the book I won't mention rolleyes (for fear of being branded a snob!) there has perhaps been an openness in women discussing their more edgy sexual likes/fantasies. Women *may* be more open to generally discussing stuff like fetishes anyway, than their male counterparts. That is perhaps why it is "received more naturally".
I'm sure others will offer their opinions soon enough.
Nola x
I was talking to a very good friend of mine about "that book" yesterday over tea and cake lol
She was telling me that the husbands of her friends are all highly disappointed that despite the book being read by their wives, there has been no change in their... erm... sauciness / sexual initiative and imagination / bedroom behaviours.
I'm not sure what this means about whether it's more acceptable for women to have fetishes than men, but it seems that the men are keen for women to be more open and more honest about their wants and needs.
Tying this in to answer to the original question, from my understanding, it seems sometimes in wider society, to be a bit of a for women to express their darker and raunchier desires. In contrast, men can seem to be almost indulged in their fetishes, not quite as "normal", but as less of a slur on their masculinity than the slur on a woman's so-called character should she admit to having fetishes or rude fantasies.
I dunno, I guess it's kind of hard to say as we're all so different.
I have the obvious BDSM fetish... but that's nothing unusual.
I do have a uniform fetish, particularly the German army during the war. Probably not that unusual when I think about it though.
You've all made good points. Thanks!
I keep wondering about this mysterious book noladreams and JustWantFun are referring to...sounds genuinely interesting.
Are there any ladies out there that would like to share some of their dirty fetishes on this thread? Come on, you know you want to!
As far as a fetish goes...one persons preference may be different from another's but that doesn't mean its anything out of the ordinary. Its all shades of grey as they say nothing is black and white , who defines the norm ?. Swinging , is that out of the norm...possibly but then again if your single and choose to have several one night stands is that swinging, Many single people would say its normal. If you enjoy a particular type of sex or enjoy a particular activity is that a fetish. Its probably just less explored that another type. I hate labels, sex apart from procreation (back to Darwin) is about pleasure and apart from the stuff that has been defines#d as illegal all I can say is if u manage to meet another who derives pleasure from the same things that you do, well its gotta be a bonus.
Im not 100% sure of what the actual question is
Are there gender specific fetishes? Really not sure, but if research was done I expect some would be found. However, the research would reflect the constructs of gender that we make in society and appropriate gender roles, not necessarily if people born of different sexes have different turn ons.
Would a female think of you as some kind of perv for talking about wanting to jizz on her stockings? If you met her on here, and she says you are a perv, she is probably in the wrong place
Do females and males fetishes get received differently? I believe that really depends on your place in society, the people you hang out with and their opinions. Most of my female friends are very liberal, know what I get up to, and have filthy fantasies and fetishes of their own. However, this is to do with their value basis, their experiences and beliefs, this is nothing to do with their gender.
