We've discussed songs that make us smile, cry and want at our funeral.
We have a book club.
Perhaps we should have a film club???
What's the best film you've seen at the cinema or DVD you've recently rented.
I saw CHILDREN OF MEN recently, it's the best film I've seen in an age.
I do love films but never seem to be able to find the time very often. The last thing I saw at the cinema was 'The Queen' with Helen Mirren. I thought it was great. biggrin
I saw The Departed recently and really enjoyed it. A classic Scorcese. Jack Nicholson in one of his best roles since Jack Torrance ;)

Have to agree. Leonardo di Caprio was good in it as well. smile
I couldn't list my faves as there are so many films I've seen over the years that I've loved. I prefer my films to have a good story to them such as Worlds Fastest Indian ( if Anthony Hopkins doesn't get an Oscar, it's a bleeding fix  ) Stigmata, Billy Elliott, Leon, Withnail & I, Motorcycle Diaries, etc but I do like a good chick flick sometimes too ( Bridget Jones, Truly Madly Deeply, Notting Hill )
The best film I saw recently was Eight Below, a live action Disney but well worth watching. I cried like a baby redface
BORAT!!!
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha its the funniest thing EVER!!!!

Ah, yes, I watched this film when it was released on DVD and was very pleasantly surprised. Sinister yet subtle, with some fantastic performances and a great soundtrack. And, of course, it's always nice to see a British film that doesn't have Hugh bloody Grant in it!
My top 10 - in no particular order other than number 1.
1, Pulp Fiction
Love and Death
Annie Hall
Goodfellas
Godfather 2
Back to the future
Trainspotting
Ferris Beulers day off
Shawshank redemption
Psycho
Two of my faves- Shawshank Redemption, and Shrek! lol
Question, anyone seen Borat yet, and does it live up to the hype?
Smilla's sense of snow.
Might not be the most astounding film I've ever seen, but it was remarkable enough to have stuck with me for years.
smile
My favourites
Close Encounters Of The Third Kind
The Castle
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
The Lion King redface
But NOT the execrable The Da Vinci Code.
Pulp Fiction
The Secretary
Coyote Ugly
Cast Away
Anne Rice's Vampire films (although books are better)
Full Monty
Frankie & Johnny
Gawd the list is endless ......................

Has anybody seen the new James Bond film?
or
The Prestige?
Are they worth seeing?
Ooooh the search button was my friend!
Has anyone seen "the wind that shakes the barley"....Mr W has expressed an interest, but as I don't know anyone who has seen it (and it's a bit pricey just to watch once at £15 ish) I thought I'd ask you lovely lot!
Muchos grassiarse!
I'm into alot of asian cinema so my favourite films will be ones that most of you will never have heard of but i strongly suggest you check them out because they are some of the best films i have ever seen, they could even be put into the same category as the godfather, scarface and reservoir dogs. The films are;
A Bittersweet Life- The manager of a hotel owned by a Yakuza crime boss falls in love with his boss's misstress and ends up being his boss's sworn enemy. A very good film with an excellent begining.
Score- Similar to Resevoir dogs but i personally think that the action wipes the floor with quentin's film.
Brotherhood of the Wolf- A french film based on the beast of Geduvan that killed hundreds of women and children before the french revolution. This is an incredible film and is by far the best film i have ever seen.
as far as i can recall, brotherhood of the wolf is one of the worst films i have ever seen in my life! complete pile of crap!!
Wasnt overly keen on resevoir dogs, think pulp fiction is much better.
oh, and er, happy gilmore rocks!!!!
I have been out tonight, had many many drinks (the night is still young at only 14 but i have returned home) and i am very upset taht you think wolfhood of the brother is crap, its amazing

Don't be upset - just accept the opinion of another person, it has no bearing on you or your world.
cool
the opinion of the person that hated the film does not matter to me as i lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvve it, howver i am a bit upset at present as i cannot fnd my chewing gum, its here somewhere....

Den's written his, but I'm with you cal,
Looove the secretary, same with coyote ugly- I'd love to be a coyote gal, the ending ruined castaway, full monty is a classic, but i'm not a pulp fiction fan (although the soundtrack is great!)
Everyone always seems to put shawshank as an all time favourite, but I've never seen it!
I have to admit I'm also with lisa- i love the lion king!!
Hate horror films, but loved all the saw films, and can't beat dodgeball!!!
