Hi all
Everyone must have one film that made you jump out of your skin! I remember seeing Jaws first time round, blimey was it that long ago and the one scene that stands out the most for being the one that had me jumping out of my seat was the head that popped out of the hole in the side of the boat. Do you have a film scene that stands out as your scariest ?

Passenger 57

snow white
the bit with the evil queen in the cellar
scared me to death didnt seem to bother the kids though
We've seen 'Saw'
Excellent film and we highly recommend it on the jump-out-of-your-seat factor!
Robinhood. Prince of thieves.
When Robin first goes to maid Marians castle, it's all dark, only a candle burning. I'm expecting the worst, she's been beaten to a pulp by the Sherriff. It's all getting very tense.
And then a bloody cat jumps onto the table and out of the door. I threw my drink in the air. It's been the only film for years that has made me jump.

Its always what you least expect to make you jump!
For me it was Carrie (based on a Stephen King book I think). The bit at the end made me jump from the fireplace to the settee - I was only about 10 and wasn't supposed to watch it !

The guy sitting behind me had seen it before, and grabbed my hand right at that moment!
Poltergeist, the bit with the clown doll.
Tbh scary films dont scare me! Dunno why Ive always loved horror films from an early age (even had a crush on christopher lee as dracula??) but I cant think of one single film thats ever really scared the shit out of me! I wish they would make one! I love scary films although given the choice Id be better off watching a decent comedy least you can laugh at that!
Athough one film that really gave me quite a chill was right at the end of the wickerman and that fucking bitch nurse from one flew over the cuookoos nest, she was evil!
Slightly corny but...................
Glen Close finally dead in the bath?????????
Or was she????????
:scared:
As soon as I saw the thread title I thought of the exact same scene in Jaws. I've seen that film more times than I care to remember since then, and it gets me every time ffs!
I'm always quite a jumpy person when watching films like that anyway, but I remember when I was about 10 watching the opening scenes of a film called "Pranks" I'll go into detail if anyone wants me to, but my mum and dad sent me to bed then - and despite my loud protestations, I was actually very glad they did lol

just one of these films that I've not been able to watch again - once was enough !
The original version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre which I first saw in a hall full of students ... ... it was just the unrelenting nature of the horror and violence in the last half of the movie ... remember I slept with the light on that night !!!
I saw candy man was I was alot younger on my own and it scared the pants off me.
More recently the first time I saw the blair witch project made me jump

Alien - when it pops out of John Hurts belly. Scary first time round but makes me chuckle now.
 Not really a jump out of your seat film, but Ghostship, any one seen it? That has to be the weirdest film ever, the bit with the cheese wire, yuk yuk yuk, mind you i find it compulsive viewing, what does that say about the way my mind works.....hhmmmmmm rolleyes
its got to be carrie
the bit where the arm comes up,had nightmares for weeks
`nother vote for Alien, but different scene... When John Hurt first gets facehugged...
Signs made me jump in the wrong place lol! It was a tense quiet moment in the film then the dog barks and I shit myself pmsl!!!

What about when Brody is throwing meat into the sea and all of a sudden the shark jumps out at him! "We're goner need a bigger boat"
the last film that made me jump was van helsing
were jeckle and hide swung down from the rafters
did nt i feel a wally in the cinema screaming rolleyes
I'm such a scardey cat, I can jump at anything.
Anyone who has seen "signs" with Mel Gibbson knows how unscary it was. I had worked myself into so much of a frenzy about it being a "scarey film" I was on the edge for the whole film jumping here there and everywhere! lol
My fave just recently was the bit in scary movie 3 where there is someone under the bed sheet in the the childs bedroom.
Out pops Michael Jackson............. ffs, I squealed and jumped so much it was like a tidal wave in the audience out from me redface
I laughed loads afterwards, Michael Jackson is freaky, but not that freaky!
One of the scariest films for me was Halloween ...all 3
also scream  and that part of carrie at the end confused :eeek:
KNEW there was another, just took me some time to recall (damn these rapidly diminishing braincells... *puts the smokeables back in the box*)
American Werewolf... dream sequence I think it is... made me leap out of my bed and gave me nightmares fer weeks...
