"Jim Murphy, you have one minute on your specialist subject, 2 and 4 stroke UJMs 1982 - present, starting now..."

I don't want to be picky James but what 2-stroke UJM's did they build?
Most 'multi' strokers were fairly individual and the 'Turbo Nutter Bastard' bikes of their day.
Suzuki GT380's & 750's.
Remember them?
Or Kawasaki's KH's?
Get's me all gooey just thinking about them and I never even owned one.
My older brother had a GT380 & some friends had KH250's and one even collected 'Kettles'......and before the non-bikers start making the obvious puns the 'Kettle' was a nickname for GT750's.
I'll get me coat before I bore everyone to death!!!
now if we are moving on to bikes thats a whole different thing to many to think about
just have to make do with the RS100 FJ1200 and ZZR at the moment but that may change by the week end biggrin

I must admit that i didnt like the FJ1200 at all. I used to ride a Honda VF500F2 which was really nice to ride, the Suzuki RG750 was nice too. As you can no doubt tell its been a long while since i was riding.
My mates dad had an ex works honda 250, apparantly ridden by a certain Freddie Spencer (now that was a long time ago). That went like the brown stuff off the shovel.
my first car after i passed my test in 1991 was a 1979 opel kadette couple bright red with a red velour interious...it also had a whit starsky and hutch type stripe in it , which i put on it ( how sad ) i bought it before i passed my test and was s eager to impress my gf now exwife that i went to pick her up to take her back to mine and promptly crashed into a wall on the way back with her an dher cousin in the car....and i wonder why shes my ex wife lol redface
My first (car ;)) was a '89 white ford fiesta mk2 with pepper pot alloys (remember them?!)...
Thankfully i've moved on a bit since then...

APC(armoured personel carrier) was my first drive. Held 10 great big soldiers in the back with all their kit. Pity I was one of them lol.
It would make a great mobile party place now and if anyone upsets you you can just run over the top of them heheheheheheh.

My first car was a vauxall viva that used to stall when i had to idol....... my dad worked hours trying to solve the problems..... then one week me and another sex manic girl friend (there a pattern here lol) at the ages of 18 went to Yarmouth , and my dad said make sure you start the car i the week, so being a good daugther on the wednesday I did and it would not start so i took a hammer in essex woman fashion and hit the battery and you know it worked and it never stalled again.....
She was Green and called The GREEN GODESS see we do name them,......

Wow! thats a few cars... i've got a long way to go!
yeah im terrible I dont keep cars long.. I get bored easily, think the longest Ive had a car is 6 months (normally more than one at a time)
my first car
nissan cherry..lovely car
out of all my cars my fav is the one i have now
a bmw ....................................
my first car was an-off white datsun liftback, which was a right pile of crap. One day (being 18) I had the wise idea to t-cut it, only to find out it was supposed to be brilliant white in colour.
Sold it soon after this and made £200 which I put to my second dream machine which was a 1.1 gold mini metro.
I am pleased to say that I have moved up in the world since those heady days smile

I'm about to do a very terrible thing and make you all remember the good old days lol
I'm about to get a car, my first one may i add, so i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to which one i should buy. There isn't a money problem but obviously i don't wanna shell out £4000 a year in insurance, so nothing too extravagant please smile
One more thing, what was everyones first car?
Someone must have had the reliant robin :lol2: rotflmao :lol2: :rotflmao:

My first car was a 1933 ford eight, cost £60, did all repairs and maintenance, Had it twenty years, travelled thousands of miles.

ooh I hope that theres plently of life left in the exhaust. Keep an eye on it. If it does look like its going to need replacing within a few months, sell the car. MR2 exhausts cost upto a grand
My first car was a Cortina 1600 GL, fast but crap, has anyone else noticed the trend developing on this thread, old cars giving away our age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ive now got an Astra SXi 1600, very nice, quite fast and reasonably priced, and cheap insurance to boot. rolleyes
My first car was an escort .. well had more than 1
Then moved onto Nissan 100NX sports but got a Mazda yesterday biggrin cant wait to give it a real spin !
1987 - Fiat 126
1977 - Mk2 Escort
1986 - Fiat Uno SX
1987 - Fiat Uno SX
1991 - Fiat Uno SX
1997 - Fiat Bravo
1998 - Landrover Freelander 108,000 on it and still going strong
Wow so many cars everyone's owned and I'm only on my 2nd (at 29yrs of age).
Something small and cheap is good as your first one, helps while you build up an insurance no-claims bonus and get used to driving more regularly. If you've not driven much since you passed your test, they say you really start to learn after your test so it'll take a while to get used to. Just hope it all stays in good nick with some of the idiots you get on the road.
Mine was a '93 Corsa - had a soft spot for them as that's what I learnt to drive in, and being 6' tall I can fit into one better than a Fiesta of similar age (almost impossible to drive comfortably)..
Upgraded a fair bit after of that, to a Subaru Impreza Turbo (just a little bit bigger/faster/better handling cool ......)
A Ford Anglia in the swinging 60's. Now a Mercedes CLK.
