Following on from Tune Essences thread, what was the first ever single (for my generation) or cd (for the kiddies) you ever bought?
Mine was Space Oddity by Bowie.
Still love the guys music today biggrin
Not the first, but one of my first records was Golden Brown by the Stranglers. I left it in a public loo though and couldn't afford to buy it again for another two weeks - ahhhhh! sad

I can safely say my taste in music has evolved since those two

I do remember singles being 50p from Woolworths though :lol2:
I think they were £1 something when i used to buy them....i just buy albums now.....i dont download music either, i like to have the cd (im shallow, i prefer material things)

King of the cops was my first but cant remember the artist(the one that took mickey out of all the TV detectives in 70's)

Close, mine was "Long haired lover from Liverpool" by Jimmy Osmond. surprisedops: I was 6 and my brother "accidentally" put it down the back of the gas fire after I had it in repeat for the hundreth time...

mine was an east 17 tape which i had saved up my paper round money to go and buy it still have it somewhere in my little box of crap i keep for old times sake the first cd i bought was the dirty dancing soundtrack, my taste has inproved since then

I genuinely cant remember old money... Everyone says I must do as I was born in Dec 63, but I really dont remember it dunno
