How do we(newbies!) get into this.... nobody will talk... let alone give any advice.....
Ok...it might be a bit dodgy if the wrong people get the right info........ but if the right people get the right info there should be no need to broadcast info to everyone.....
being a closed nit bunch may be ok ......FOR YOU!..
Have a thought for all us who want to have some fun... surely it would be better for all if more got involved....

Getting blood from a stone...............
Daz... I have only been posting here for about a week (ish) and at first my presence was acknowledged and tollerated... but as time progressed, it was tollerated less and enjoyed a bit more.
And then this evening I had not one but several PM's from various people on this board who previously I knew through just their public posts.
They all PM'ed me for different reasons, and were all perfectly social and not any kind of vulgar fuck requests... my point is, if you stick around and chat a bit... people get to know you, and they feel comfortable enough to PM you.... because you start to be less of a stranger to them.... More importantly, I now feel like I am more accepted, because ppl were nice enough to do something as simple as say hello.
So in a nutshell... thats how you crack the nut... and by all accounts its how everyone here got to be from the outside to the inside... there is no secret society or old boys club... just strangers and friends.
And then this evening I had not one but several PM's from various people on this board who previously I knew through just their public posts.
They all PM'ed me for different reasons, and were all perfectly social and not any kind of vulgar fuck requests... my point is, if you stick around and chat a bit... people get to know you, and they feel comfortable enough to PM you.... because you start to be less of a stranger to them.... We see alot of newbies come in and we all wave
say hi and then they stop posting, 3 weeks later they wonder why no one is talking to them.
So dodgydaz and anyone else, put in some effort and you will find others are more willing to have a banter with you

Well, I have made an effort to post a lot. The most frustrating thing about this place is that you start a thread and it degenerates into...people who already know each other flirting and joking. I don't really mind, but it makes it harder to break through and make an impression. It's the nature of the place, I suspect... there's a lot of sexual energy and people find it hard to stay focused on the topic in hand.

I don't think the aim in here should be to make an impression. It's to have fun. That can take lots of forms and we've all got to accept that that it happens like it happens, just like you say you've done. There is no control over how things develop unless they get out of hand and contravene the AUP.

I did the same thing, read the forums for about a month before posting anything. So by the time I did, I felt like I knew everyone ...... except they didn't have a clue who I was
It does take time, you have to settle in, let people get to know you, your opinions and humour - and vice versa. Then you find yourself clicking with people, and then things begin to happen. :D
Just for the record, I`ve been fairly quiet of late because I`ve been working on a project. Getting back into the swing of things (so to speak), when I`m done, will be difficult even for a post whore like myself! It`s like trying to jump back into a fast moving current. I remember it feeling difficult the last time I was absent.
So I just started lots of new threads (hopefully interesting ones!) so I was able to fit into a conversation from the start. After that it felt easier.
So it`s not always just a newbie thing.

many newbies post once or twice, then disappear forever finding the site ain't what they think it might be? but they always get a hello, and we wait to see? and yes everyone who posts is, at the end of the day, doing a look at me? it's how you get to know people? same as any hello we get in real life? and no many newbies do not read the posts before they join officially? IMHO and experience?
