After reading Gagmasters's thread I was pondering..
I often get changed in public after kayaking, not the full lot but changing my shorts and top because they are usually wet, if changing my shorts I wrap a towel around my bottom half but changing my top I usually just take it off and put a dry one on exposing my flabby tummy and bra
If I get into the car wet not only does the seat get wet but it's rather uncomfortable and i usually end up dragging half the beach home, finding public toilets to change in is not always as simple as it would seem as they can be miles away
So some questions
If you saw the above or surfers or even just bathers changing on the beach doing the above would it embarrass you or worry you because you had kids with you?
Would you see it and not bat an eyelid?
Or would you find it a turn on?
What would you do in the same scenario?
Any other thoughts?
Wouldn't bother us, it's all about "intent". ie your not intending to be erotic or lewd, just being practical.
In Cap D'agde its the other way round, you go into the lingerie shops naked and try on exotic and erotic clothes in full view of people (as everyone is nude no need for changing rooms), but everyone is looking to see what you look like with clothes on !!!

I kayak as well so I'm used changing in public and because I kayak I'm used to seeing others change in public.
It's not an issue for me. As Kaznkev said, in this case, it's clearly a sporting event. If I was walking past with kids I don't think I'd be too concerned either.
Hmmmm... I came across this just the other week at the gym. The changing rooms are open plan shall we say and kids are allowed in before 6pm. I had been for a swim and when I came out the shower there was a mum in with her son. No idea how old he was... maybe six or seven? Usually I just strip and get get dressed again, never really think twice about it, I suspect it's an age thing cause I don't think I'd ever have done that as a teenager. Even a few years ago I think I probably would have been a bit more self-conscious than I am nowadays, I wonder if being involved in this scene has made me more comfortable with nudity in front of strangers...
Anyway... it did cross my mind that I was about to strip in front of a little boy but I was more uncomfortable for his sake than for mine. In the end I opted to sort of get dressed under my towel, I'm not sure what the appropriate course of action is.
As kids my folks were naked in the house, not all the time but in and out of the bathroom/shower etc. and my mum always sunbathed topless on holiday so it was never really an issue.
Not entirely on topic but I read a letter in one of the expat papers here written by an English woman with a 13 year old son. She was asking who she could complain to about her (French) neighbour stripping off and sunbathing nude in her (the French lady's) garden in full view of her (the English lady's) 13 year old son.
Well, it turns out that the 13 year old has to precariously balance on a chair in the spare bedroom in order to get a good view from the window over the hedge.
When challenged by the mother, the French lady merely provides the classic Gaelic shrug which is taught to all French children from a very early age, pouts her lips and walks away which just infuriates the mother even more.
Now, any teenage boy whose natural instincts are suppressed by an overly Victorian approach to nudity is going to go in search of it anyway, or at least exploit it when such an opportunity presents itself.
French boys of the same age probably wouldn't bother because "they've seen it all before" anyway, their parents, brothers, sisters, their friends both male and female down the beach or at the swimming pool.
The English are soooo prudish! I seem to remember that the advice given to the dear Mother by the resident agony aunt was basically "grow up" and that he'll grow out of it.
mmmmmmmm Japanese now your talking!
All that lush jet black hair.... :rascal:
What very conservative views being held by people who follow a liberal lifestyle.
People in the UK seem unable to differentiate between nudity and sex and hence get in a flap over non issues like this. The "Benny Hill" smut type humour is engrained in the British psyche and until we grow up as a nation and remember the nude is normal we will continue to worry and bother ourselves over such nonsense.
Guys - read the original post again please. It is about getting changed - not being naked all day or wandering down the high street naked - just getting changed.
My reference was about British attitudes that just get all worked up over nothing as can be seen from following posts.
