I know that you might be tempted to feel a little sore, emotionally as well as physically, after your adventures last week. You probably think that I 'took advantage ' of you when you were 'not yourself' following that unfortunate bang on your head. Well , old friend, consider this. Yes, I stood and watched as you dug half an acre of my garden by hand. And, yes, I suppose I did laugh a bit when you collapsed with exhaustion and had to be rushed to hospital for intravenous glucose etc. BUT, I only ever had your best interest at heart. Just think on this: there you were, dressed as a French Maid, rushing round with a feather duster, pandering to gin swigging girlies!! Now, what did I do? I got you out, in the fresh air, toiling and grafting like a REAL man, as befits your proud and distinguished military career. In short Bilko my dear friend, I SAVED YOU! That half acre of digging was a small price to pay to preserve the dignity that you, above all others, deserve.
