i'm sure its just me, but has anyone else noticed that our beloved SH is changeing, and i dont mean in an evolveing for the better way either. Us "ordinary member's seem to be getting a poorer deal by the week. We are "all" suffering with poor chatroom connectivity,overzealous moderation, threads on the chatroom that the admin dont approve of "going missing" or "getting moved" or just plain locked down when the evidence of poor value for money or collusion are too much to refute, thus denying all members a "right to reply" But now us ordinary members are going to have to stuff up more cash to enjoy the, before now, standard benefits.
Mind you it would appear the parent company of SH wont cut you much slack if you ring to complain of the poor value for money or inadequate service, their standard patter is "we'll run our sites just how we want to" good luck SH, i for one wont be rejoining and will take my inconsequential cash elsewhere.

Im more than happy with SH. I would like to extend a big hearty thank you to all those who run it (for all the thanks they get) for operating an excellent site. The new chat rooms are great but even better is that the old ones are still there for those of us like me who fear change so we can get used to the change a bit more gradually.

I go back and forth between the two. By the time the old ones gone I think I'll be perfectly used to the new one. Most sites would just switch and leave ppl to flounder. At least this way you can ease in gently. And seen that most ppl are on the new chat I would say its proving to be ok. Or no-one would be using it... right?

Easing in is not a problem, the new chats very easy to use. What is a problem is being disconnected constantly and various features not working as many users have found. The worst offender is the text lag when it can take 4-5 seconds for your keyboard strokes to appear on the screen in the chat box then another 10-15 for them to appear in the chat room after you press enter confused

Ah, well in that case I not been in there long enough for that to happen to me. So far its been ok for me. Maybe Im just lucky then.

Does seem to be a bit random. One night I was in chat with no problems other than a slight text delay but others were complaining all the time of disconnections. The next night some others were fine yet I was disconnected three time in about 10 mins. Suspect and severely hope this will get better over time.

Well If you think SH is bad go and try some other sites for comparison before you start moaning. I find that this site has the best community spirit and the members are a better quality because of also allows even none paying members more features than other sites.
No chat engine is perfect and it all depends on load ( I did notice Lag last night in the new one ) but I can tell you as an IT guy they'll still be tweaking the back end to work better. The beta test only checked the functionality not the load.
Finally, yes you get out what you put in ! Make the effort to connect, have fun and make friends on the forum, in chat, and yes by message and ad's too.
I love this place :-D I cant believe I've been on 5 years or so already !

Have a look at our reply to Domino (page 18) on a possible solution re tweaking your Chat settings down to the default lower settings that are standard in the old chat.

I've replied to some threads on the forum that either dissapeared or were moved (according to the MOD) mind you I cant find them :twisted: or at best locked when the MOD's bluff had been called. I've witnessed people getting "kicked" for dareing to question a MOD. It stinks, this site 's gone so far down hill it should be called Swinging Hell.
You are of course entitled to your opinion, but in MY opinion the chat rooms are not any where near as busy as they used to be, and the quality of the members in chat has declined, you can Jazz it up all you like with gimmicks like shrep etc but it just ain't what it used to be. :sad:

How many of your posts have gone exactly??? You've only posted 3 times (the counter reflects no of posts even if they're deleted) and two of those are on this thread. That leaves just one post thats gone or been moved.

Vamps has already asked the question about your 'missing' posts. I can't imagine people would be 'kicked' for simply questioning a mod. I'd say it was probably more about that person not agreeing on a point when they've been corrected, or like some, just not letting something go and becoming something of a troll, which is unpleasant and boring for everyone.
End of the day, you don't have to stay here, even to moan - if you think it's that bad, go elsewhere. Vote with your money and your feet.

we think sh is a great site with loads of nice folks (alright we have met a couple of dickheads but they get everywhere)so sorry flylester but we cannot agree with you and we will definately be staying put here and while we are at it compared to other sites we have found sh is much better value for money

at least it will get sorted,,,
think this site runs better than our trains or buses...
when u update software it takes time to sort out little bits...
look at bill gates on windows... u paid £90 for some thing that never worked prperly n the public had to sort out all the snags...
bet this end up one of the best sites on the internet...

The forum goes through stages and yet another stage it is currently going through.
People leave the site for different reasons, and as someone who has been on here a lot longer than yourself, I can say that people come and people go, and people get banned.
For me there are some that I miss and plenty that I do not.
It seems from the posts you have made over a very short amount of time, you have got a great deal out of the forum.
Nothing a few new posters would not put right.
If there is nothing for you to get interested in, then I would presume that you will not be posting again?? Just a question sweet pea. :lol:

SO you've been to the other sites and decided to spend you money here ! Well I guess that means SH was better then eh ? Change is inevitable especially in IT and the Net, It's all just a question of getting used to things. I can remember hating XP cos the interface was different and now I love it ( and hate Windows 7 cos the interface is different ).
I agree with Kaz on the forum it isn't about the interface half as much as it is about the people using it. Though I have to admit I like the way this one works ( cos I'm used to it ). I've noticed the forum seems to go through phases of busy and quiet times. Hopefully more people will find the forum and join in rather than just read.
As for chat, well the old one had it's issues just the same. It's early days for the new one and as it gets tweaked to run better am sure people will forget the problems when it first started. I think you might find in these hard times that there are less people on sites such as these which might explain the dip in no's.
There's one person here who can change your experience of the site dramatically. You !

I agree the forum goes through phases but after the first year I joined the general direction of posts per day has been downward. This summer it was said it's cus its summer and people are out dogging etc yet right now its quieter than it was then confused

??: IN 2006 I HAD TO visit the forum at least three times a day as if I did not there would be simply be to much to catch up on. I am talking sometimes more than a page of posts even one and a half pages of posts with some having gone multiple pages since I was last on. It was just too much to keep up with. I have not seen the forum like that in many a year. You only have to look at some of the older posts that get revived and see how many 4-5-6-7k posters are now missing. It does also seem to be the forum here that suffers. When I was sorting the munch I looked at how busy the forum was when I had previously been to munches and thought turn out at ours would be a lot less. In fact turn out was greater by about 30 people.

We joined around the same time as Tweekle and find ourslves tending to agree with all he has said I also happen to think that dividing the forums, though a good idea in principle, has diluted the forum and the forum users. Where the forum was integrated there was a greater diversity of topics and posters who now tend to stay either to the cafe or to the current affairs whereas under the same heading posters would venture into the topics and join in they now stay away from because they are, you could say 'in a different room'. As for the just for fun and welcome rooms ...... :giveup:
SH is still probably the best site for swingers on the net though it's ease of use, for me at least, is not so good as it was but then I'm pretty sh*te at using facebook or any of the other networking sites. In the end Lost like chatting and swinging and for us a simple(very) chat room a lively integrated forum and a fathomable search/meet today facility.

I also agree with Lost that the divided forums are a disaster, had forgotten about that.

In your case it is bloody obvious.
You post on every subject and then suddenly stop posting.

The reasons people know you were banned now and a couple of weeks ago is pretty damn obvious, and you talking about it in an open room only a couple of weeks ago now, also sort of lets other people know about it.
I for one do not care whether you are here or not, but PLEASE do not go around thinking the things you think above.....you really are way off the mark sweet pea.

When someone is banned, it shows on their profile that their account is inactive. Everyone can see that, but not the reason.

It certainly is not any Mod " sharing personal data ".....what are you insinuating here?? I am sure a mod will come along very soon and put you right on that one.

We don't need you speaking on our behalf or stirring things up under our name. If we have a comment to make, we'll make it without prompting from you.

You were not trying to help at all. Your post was directly intent upon winding up Kaznkev. Being helpful would have been posting that it shows on a profile when someone is banned, not all the gubbins you posted.
As moderators, we don't like our name taken in vain. If you find that aggressive, that's only your perception which you are entitled to think, but it doesn't make it true.

Mal, this is a serious question and not intended to wind any one up, I'm just seeking clarification. A few weeks ago, I requested Mod intervention in a thread where a member was making totally irrational comments about me, only to be told that Mods could not now intervene ( due to the 3 strikes rule) unless a complaint had been received. Have the rules changed again since then?
