mmmm a good question whips
Well im hoping for my own personal groundhog day tommorrow, the snows even returned !:giggle:
If i had to choose just one, probably my wedding day
,no white dress(a pair of liberty shorts and pink silk t shirt)
no romantic venue,East ham registry office,
10 friends, the reception was a vegetarian banquet cooked by our 2 friends who d grown up in india, after i showed them where east ham high rd was lol
I was woken by my best girlfriend with a glass of champagne and fell asleep in kevs arms on the sofa,Im not even sure we have any photoes but it is a day i could relive over and over again.

awwww hunny thats lovely
ours was slightly similar
no dress i wore leather and he wore denim, no church was local registry office calling into wimpy on route for breakfast, only attended by close family and friends then back to my aunt n uncles pub for a small buffet and drinkies then home when pub shut at 3 pre all day opening spent afternoon consumating it then back to local pub with mates in the evening would be gobsmaked if we spent more than £200 and we are about to celebrate our 21st anniversary in april and i wouldn't change a thing its all about the marraige not the weddding and yes that would also be my groundhog day
Saturday 5th December 2009 - from 1pm onwards... for pretty much the next 36 hours (sorry - that's cheating, I know... groundhog day and a bit!)
I was sublimely happy. I would relive all of it again in a heartbeat.
It's probably even more perfect in its poignancy now *sighs*
I'll skip all the family stuff and go with a childhood day
1984 I reckon on a weekend getting up running for my sledge and heading to the local slope. Tons of kids there everyone up early biggrin clear day and cold, the sun was out glistening on the snow. This was not the first day of the snow so the slope is now flat an polished like, superb conditions. Dozens of kids lining up for races we had everything from toilet seats and car bonnets to plastic sledges and traditional sledges. It was an amazing day I'll never forget, they come so rarely and you dont get days like that now sad Even in the recent snow you dont get enough kids out to create the conditions we saw that morning. I stayed out all day that day from around 8am to 7pm I think, magic to live in the memory.
I've had too many ........... and yet not enough!

......do you think your day is still to come?

well, if the evening of filth and debauchery i have in my head of you and your bed ever happens, i think that could be a worth contender for a groundhog day :rascal:

nola, i have a feeling that these times are so rare for us that we should be able to stretch the rules a little bit biggrin

 Cos I was thinking earlier and I really couldn't chop my 36 hours down!
Did you know that Groundhog Day was adopted by the US from the Germans?
The Day here id Candlemass day (not sure of spellings etc etc, and I shan't bother myself with looking stuff up, you can if you'd like to.
Candlemass here (christian) was the hyjacking of a seasonal midpoint pagan festival denoting a halfway spot twixt start and end of winter... so cause for celbration there. And Pagans do know how to celebrate.
However, back to the 'thing' about the grounhog effect mentioned from the film: the day/event repeating and all that jazz;
I would not have a day, as yet, but could nicely form a collection of events that would make up a chronalogical day. I've even been fair enough to consider recovery times and the effects of physical injury into the day and whether it would actually be posible (if real) and yes, I believe it might just work.
However, there are plans afoot that could well make a pretty damned fine dall all in all... that also will have to have considered recovery times and bear in mind the effects of physical injury (whether accidental or intended... some 'injury', or at least physical discomfort is most certainly intended, oh yes!)
sorry to have recalled this thread, only I've been away.

if i had to choose a day and with some thought
it would have to be the day my first child was born as i still remember seeing her pop round from the womb before she entered this world i was so over joyed seeing her and having the first hold of her before my partner did as i asked her first if i could do so
