ive been thinking about getting a completely new hair style.
currently its long and blonde, sometimes straight sometimes curly.
do you think when a woman gets to a cretain age they should have really long hair? and what is that age?
i guess im getting worried i might be one of those
"doesnt she know how old she is" people, and if im not quite there yet do i still have time to do something funky.
Another side line thought is, ive been thinking about going red, ive always loved red hair on ppl.
now i know you can comment on if it will suit me if you dont know what i look like, but if anyones done it can you tell me how easy it is to go back to blonde if its horrid?
i foud this web site, i have ben sat her almost wetting myself while trying out hair styles.

sorry i think this might be quite rambled.
so thoughts are.... what age is to old for long hair,
has anyone gone red and back without to much stress?

Hi hun, if its natural blond, keep it that way. And unless you get it done at a hairdressers, red is a very difficult colour to do and keep at home. Believe me I know! If you don't like the colour, blond is very difficult to get back to...
My hair is black at the moment - going back to my goth side, and I'm happy with it.. but did want blond a few years ago... I had to go to a grade 3 shave when the hairdresser messed it up...
So think very carefully!! Just make sure whatever you do is for you... I have always had a butch hairstyle but getting long now.. and I feel better for it.. I don't care what people think of me.. if they don't like it.. they know where the door is! wink
I've always been a bit paranoid about my long hair as I've got older. So much so that in the last few years I've gone shorter and shorter.
I've never been anything other than fake blonde ( mouse is the true collar and cuffs colour ) so can't advise on the dyeing - but I do think that slightly shorter should start in your late 30's early 40's.
Having said that, I've no idea of your age (as yet) so you might look absolutely stunning with long locks for a long long time ( Bitch!!! wink )
I've just total changed my hair hun I've gone from long blonde hair to light brown very very short hair but I really want a big change, So I would say if it feels right go for it. cool
I have long hair which I love though I am so sad that it is thinning alarmingly at the front. I always thought i'd be ok about male baldness but i admit i'm not. I hate hate hate it I do I really fucking hate it its unfair  its cruel and I want my long hair for ever. Long and brown through grey to white right through to me being dead and not giving a monkeys. I am going to go bald disgracefully not giving into the tempted 'comb-over' granted (though actually combing over from the back to front i've got another 40 years i reckon hmmmmmm) I am going to go pink once though before I lose it all biggrin

however i completely understand how horrid it must be for you.
my daughter is being brave tomorrow and going very short, the most recent posh spice cut. however shes 18 and able to do anything and still look good. evil

i am a hairdresser with extenshive experience in colour work and to go from blonde to red and then back to blonde again is incredibly difficult it would cause irriversable dammage to your hair and you would have to have it cut incredibly short to remove the dammage but not impossable if you have a top hairdresser do it for you but will cost a pretty penny or ten, i myself have just gone from brown and red to white blonde and purple and had to cut it very short to remove most of the dammaged hair
as for long hair on older ladies i feel that as long as it is cut regularly into a flattering style for the individual and the lady can maintain that look between visits then there is absolutly no reason can always have long hair no matter how old
Hairdressers scare me!! I'm scared of the dentist but would rather have a tooth out than have my hair cut!!
Yet, I would love a new hairstyle as I've been sort of thinking that I'm too old for my longish hair. Not died my hair for donkeys years and was thinking about dying it light brown or something to hide the grey/brassy look. Plus I thought it might make me look younger and go with my brown eyebrows confused :?
Why is it I'm a natural blonde and my eyebrows are a different colour??? :lol2:
Champagne Blonde here biggrin
I don't understand why women have shorter hair when they get older, I know one reason is its much easier to look after short hair but the I'm to old for long hair reason has no grounds that I can see, it makes you look older when its short IMO. And who wants to look old.
Short perm, with a blue rinse. bolt
No, do it your way. Here are some observations.
long hair gets trapped
long hair gets messy
short hair is easy to keep
colours never reach all the way to the head
Do it your way, that is you, be you.
Long hair can really look good flowing over boobs and down over the saddle.

Well you know how to upload pics on facebook woman wink
Havn't taken any yet to upload!!! meet you on cam ? lol
Haircuts are a dilemma aren't they?!
Getting mine chopped on Wednesday. Can't decide quite how though. Thank god I trust my hairdresser!
Grade 1 all over...
I simply dont have time in my busy social schedule to be faffing with hair :lol2:
I'm a natural blond ( say it and you die! ) and took the plunge and dyed my hair red about 4 years ago. I love it! I went back to blond last year briefly but I've been so used to the red I looked washed out as a blond
I did cut it short once too but looked like a boy rotflmao so it's never shorter than shoulder length but I prefer mine longer again so I'm growing it.
I think some women of a certain age try too hard and the change is too drastic for it to look good but with a good colour and cut, it can transform you. Go for it!
Btw, I'm 48 biggrin

I had long blonde straight hair... and have done so for the last 15 years!! Boring you my say!
I have always had it medium blond, never cut short or any other colour.. Until Thurs... i now have ...
an asymetric layered bob!!
Its where my hair is chin length one side but as it goes round it gets longer until the other side which is shoulder length and its a shade blonder!!
I love it!!!!
