Probably one for the ladies... some advice please
I wear my hair short and I've just been watching something with Victoria Beckham on TV... wow, has anyone seen her new hairstyle? I love it!
The 60's hairstyle - esp. the Mary Quant look, is making a dramatic return this year, what does anyone else think? Is the 60's a good look?
lol
I've just had my hair cut into a layered bob, about chin length, from my shoulders biggrin Not quite Victoria's style but similar.
I've also dyed it :D from black, I've gone dark brown with bright red streaks :rascal: It sounds odd but looks fab :D
The sections coloured are quite subtle when I straighten my hair for work, but add a bit of gel and fluff it a bit and the colour is a lot more visible :D
Cx
go to hairdress this week fancy a change but not sure what so will have to see what everone has to say on the 60 look my hair is short so find it hard to change style
yep, 60's is very "in" this season and it's easy to grow out to the next style that comes along.
My hairdresser is fab. She always does whatever i ask of her (not one of those who nods in the right places then you leave with summat you really didn't want!)
She also gives great advice as to what styles would suit me and hot to get the best from it.
I have very fine, kinky, flyaway hair so there aren't many styles I can try cos my hair just won't hold it.
Also, you have to think about your face shape and your facial features. Some styles might make you face look longer or thinner or might bring out your eyes or draw too much attention to a square jaw - just for example.
I'd look out for people with the style you like and if they look good with it, do they have the same sort of face shape or type of hair as you?
Of course, you've got to remember the celebs have the very best products and people at their disposal and simply cannot afford to look anything less than perfect.

I think having short hair will be a plus factor as the 60's look was short hair wasn't it? well mainly.. good luck anyway kiss

I know, the thing is with VB is that she has millions and can afford to carry that look! My hair is very thick and I have to straighten it every day as I have long at the front and very cropped at back, so to make it lie right it has to be straightened otherwise I look like a brillo pad! lol
Awww bless ya kiss and to think, people like me would kill to have your hair!
The 60's look is well in this year. I've even subscribed to fashion ( my bad, promise I won't do it again redface ) and bought a couple of those fab smock tops. I wish I had the guts to cut my hair short though biggrin
I've wanted to grow my hair long for years. I managed to get it to about 8 inches (from the front that is) long when I was a student, but had to cut it for work experience rolleyes My hair is thick and as it's grey also a little wiry now sad I'd kill to be able to have it long lol

I'm getting a cut and colour on thursday, and i have no idea what to get done- i usually get something different each time i go, but i've run out of ideas.
This is probably the most boring plain blonde i've had my hair in a long time- so i was thinking of going white blonde as we're doing a marylin monroe tribute in our next burlesque act, but i'm not sure how much it will ruin my hair! what do you all reckon?
havent seen vbs hairstyle- but i'm sure it'll look greaton you!
xx

I know of about three men who are currently growing their hair. We tend to forget that men have nearly as much worry about their hair as women do..

Some wise cracker suggested hair extensions ....costs too much  and I'd get a lot of funny looks going into work the week after with long hair after having it as short as I usually do!

I know what you mean, I would love to have spare cash for extensions. It's a shame tho, women can walk proudly out in public the next day with a long do, but a man would have to justify , you are quite right hun x

If I had enough bottle I would.....but I'd bottle out
I can grow it so far....but it just stops (or slows down ) after a certain length.....it's ironic that when my hair grows fastest (in summer), I feel the most uncomfortable because of the heat.....and when I do grow it, it just looks a mess because I can't do anything with it....
