Hairy backs

I already know that most women, or men for that matter, don't like hairy backs on men. Mine seems to have gotten progressively hairier over the past few years so I need some advice on the best way to exfoliate my back.
I've tried waxing, at home mind you, and it was painful and left red blotches and raw skin for a few weeks. I can't really do shaving as some is in places too hard to reach on my own, and I don't know the effect Immac, or Veet will have.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd prefer to avoid wax, and I don't care if it makes me a sissy :P

Self waxing hurts like f*ck! Go and get it done properly and you shouldn't have any blotches or too much pain (ie the initial sting but nothing else).

:giggle: yea what trapper said lol
Only start to worry if the hairs grow more nearer the full moon ........If so I'm sure pets mart may stock something to help........p.s. try to refrain from barking at moon........
yeah... you should get it professionally waxed.
or, if you have the money - laser hair removal, which is permanent, so if you really dislike having to deal with your back every week or so, it may be worth the investment. wink

Yep...... DITTO DITTO
go down to local beauty salon and ask them,
Trim it with clippers, about a number 2. That way its neat and tidy without looking silly or false when it grows back.

Well if the rest of your body is hairy and you don't want to look false by just removing your back hair, specially if is leaves you with a hairy arse, then I think clippering is the best option.

oo you lot are rotten biggrin
babes there is a very expensive way and that is to see a electrologist....
But i would say take your self along to a professional waxer............. yes it is painful and you will be red for about 2 days but it carm down!
How much do they cost? Or would I get it free if I tied myself to the back of a lorry going down the M6 with no clothes on my back? biggrin
Waxing is good but it can take a while for your body to get used to. Keeping cool is important for a day or two afterwards. I get waxed all over and I love it.
I cannot recommend a professional wax enough. the only downside is that everytime it needs re-doing, you'll haev to wait a couple of weeks for the hair to get really long again.
please, please, do not shave or "Veet" it. The hair grows back blunt and prickly and you're at risk of ingrowing hair which is really unattractive cos you get nasty spots and alsorts.
While we're on the subject ... waxing makes the hair finer so you ccan get ingr=owing hairs that way too. The hair is just too soft and fine to push through the skin. So make sure you regularly scrub your back, preferably with a good exfoliator and one of those net scrunchy things ( about a quid in Superdrug but you can get em for less in cheapy shops).
If you do get ingrowing hair, scrubyour skin in the bath/shower and pick the hair out asap cos it'll only get worse. You might want to invest ina body lotion too oris that going too far?
It's so nice that more men are taking care of themselves and have an interest in personal grooming. i'm very lucky to have a bloke that loves to be pampered and will think nothing of spending a bit of cash on making himself look even more gorgeous for me.
I don't work for Clinique - honest! - but they have a brought out loads more products for men and it's well worth it. Top quality stuff.
Yup - go and get it waxed professionally mate. I did shave my other half's in the bath last night and did a damn fine job but you can't beat a proper waxing
I didn't realise that we had so many of Darwin's missing links as part of this forum, only kidding just go and get it waxed and try not to cry out to loud.
remember to take a hot shower before you go for the wax, not only because you should always be hygenic (I cannot imagine what professional waxers must have to put up with  ) but also because the steam from the hot shower will make the hair softer and easier to remove = less pain for you.

I was thinking of having it done. Never been hairy and don't like this late middle-aged growth that's appeared between the shoulder blades, do you really have to go every week? You just changed my mind!
How much does lasering cost? I guess they charge per follicle so I suppose it's a piece of string, but any guidance welcome.

depends on how hairy you are really, waxing can keep you smooth up to 6 weeks (with some tweezing attendance) but if your hair grows really fast and thick you may have to get waxed every two weeks (every week was a bit of an exaggeration... redface )
pricing depends on the area you're having done (not per follicle, cheeky) and the place who is doing it.... these people would have more infor than I:
also: depending on the surface area being treated, you have to go back more than once. but it doesn't hurt anything except your wallet. (sorry de. sade lol )
why get rid of your hairs anyway.
i love hairy men mmmmmmmmm
wink biggrin :D
well i always get my better half to do my back....with a couple of packets of Nair...but would love to get it waxed properly one day!

It isn't a good idea to veet your back with either cream or mousse because backs have a lot of boney sections and anything without a fair amount of flesh will end up with veet burn. Places like the upper chest are especially vulnerable to veet burn.
Judy

   veet is eeeevil. so is nair. any of that cream shi**. I got a nasty chemical burn from that stuff when I was 13 and now have to be xtra careful with my skin.
should be taken off the market all together...
Try an . It's not as painful as it sounds lol
i still think the mohalk is a good idea. start from the head and have it run all the way down to your bum. ill paint you white with black stripes, and Bingo!! my little zebra lol
ok!! it was only an idea

I'm sorry I have to disagree. I for one and many others hope they don't take it off the market, its a product many people find extremely useful. I am aware some people get a reaction to certain chemicals.
I use Veet and occasionally Nair on a regular basis, I just don't use it where there isn't any flesh because I get veet burn if I use it near boney flesh just as many people do.. It isn't right for everyone that is why they tell you on the instructions to do a 24 hour skin test to see if you get an allergic reaction some people get the same reaction to certain foods, it doesn't mean that the product is shi** as you put it. Thousands of different people use both Veet and Nair every day and most people are OK with it. I get a reaction to certain washing powders and come out in red blotches the product is fine, its me that is the problem.
Just like others I use Veet / Nair in the most intimate places without a problem usually but I have seen some people come out like a lobster :P If its used near the crease at the top of the thighs its wise to smear a little cream in the joint at the top of the thighs to prevent irritation in places like that. Like I say it isn't for everyone.
Judy

aw. and i was hoping for a bond.
but if it works for ya, I spose it IS a good idea. It works for lots of people as well, and getting hair removed professionally is expensive. I just wish I hadn't had such a bad experience. or such sensitive skin and troublesome hair. and i WAS 13 at the time, can't be counted on then for intelligent thinking I guess.
