no.......'the same old crap' only applies to this thread.......dont get your knickers in a twist wink

But in all fairness I think most swinging related topics may have already been covered. How does one revive the topic without "The search button is your friend" brigade rushing in?
And if on a swinging site all we talk about is sex doesn't that seem a little tunnel visioned? After all, some people are here to get to know each other.

Exactly!!!!

what is so wrong with one line replies ........some of us dont have all day to sit here posting
i personally dont want to broadcast my private life via a forum
and i dont want to get into heated debates with other members
lifes to bloody short to be moaning all the time

Maybe I should explain that the one liners I meant are the ones that go like "yeah baby!" "and you too", "what she/he said", "oh you're so clever", "hahaha", yeeehaaa, etc.
I mean they really don't contribute much, but that wasn't a moan really, people are entitled to post what they like. What I was trying to convery across is the fact that it's not only newbies who post too much or "crap" as it's being said at the beginning of this thread. Oldies are just as guilty. Of course nobody is expected to sit here all day to broadcast their lives - we all have a life away from SH I'm sure.
There are some very good oneliners and loads very, very bad ones (and I'm guilty of those too); but on the whole I follow the rule "if you don't like it, don't read it" and just ignore those posts.
I agree with Libra+Love's opinions on this subject by the way.
PS. If I ever post a boring crap oneliner please someone shoot me!!

I agree!
aaaaaaaaand this is not one liner - the eagled eyed amongst you will notice it's a TWO liner OK? biggrin
You may have found it scathing of the site in general, but it was n't...sorry to dissapoint!!....im sure you would relish the opportunity to jump to the defense of everyone, but it isnt really needed!!
And my underwears in question? and so what if everyones seen your underwear.... rolleyes

I would hope we are all here to get to know each other in one way or another, but does that mean discussing intimate family problems on here with people we *don't* actually know? How would we react face to face if a stranger walked up to us and started asking us to discuss something personal with them?
Would the same people who swap the forum with so many posts on an hourly basis really do this IRL?
Can you imagine if they walked into a munch or whatever and started rushing around shouting to everyone they see, charging from person to person and acting like a hyperactive child? Pretty soon everyone would get tired of it and completely ignore them I'm sure
Being keen to join in is one thing. Making a nuisance of yourself and alienating other members is quite another rolleyes

Bailiffss, does a picture count as a one liner?
........maybe we should ask a mod biggrin
whose favourite songs album could that be bailiffs ? i wonder

DONT READ IT THEN!!!
If you feel your reading a post about an intimate family problem, maybe think to YOURSELF..''do i know this person?'' if you find the answer is no, and this makes you uncomfortable.....maybe move on......
or would you rather the post didnt exist at all....so what do you want exactly, cos this is pretty irratating!!!

erm.......not quite sure!!!!!!!..................................................hactually it has two lines
songs for miserable
bastards
 mwah u know u all love me
I agree with this guy

Although I personally don't think the people here are a bunch of miserable bastards, they are some of the most friendly, down to earth people I have talked to, and hope to meet.
Newbies should feel free to post what they want, trying to censor the board of any posts other than the completely ridiculous or timewasting is counterproductive
nice one dewi...they should learn to enjoy life and no moan about others postings
perhaps they lack imagination of their own ?????????

Hi.
So, can someone please clarify this for me? Is the Cafe meant for threads only relating to swinging? In that case, does that mean one shouldn't start threads about anything that isn't directly related to swinging itself? It can get quite confusing at times when you are new. biggrin

Here's your answer Maia, according to the posting guidelines.
The Swinging Heaven Forum Guidelines
1. Before you post a new topic, make sure you are posting it in the correct place. The Cafe is for anything and everything (as you can see ), EXCEPT meet up requests or Dogging.

Moderation is the key to all things. Perhaps it's high time some members, both old and new, could learn how to exercise it.
It's simply not the case where we can ignore a thread if we don't happen to enjoy posts from a particular person/persons.
When some people appear on EVERY thread going with their silly little emoticons or such comments as "oh yeah baby" it does kind of detract from the thread itself, which is annoying if it had been one worth reading beforehand rolleyes

I refer you to my earlier comments .

i dont want to get into so much of a public debate but fair enough the topics arnt smazing but i dont see any of them contributing topics of interest themselves???
just a thought?
I think that saying.. or implying that the long standing members of the site are sad and/or miserable bastards is probably counter productive to getting the new members welcomed with open arms.
Now I have spent a considerable amount of time this morning defending the right of any individual member to post what they like… not what other people want to read.
This does not however extend to being deliberately nasty and rude.
If an argument/discussion has deteriorated to the point where only insults will suffice. perhaps it is best to keep out of it and allow it to die.

i never meant it as a direct hit, i thought that somehow they wud see the funny side and just forget about it. if i was implying it to a specific person i would of said who.I find it very amusing that there is a topic about writing crap topics which therefore makes this a crap topic.
and i think that if they step back and look then they will find that some of the topics have had over a thousand viewings and lots of replies therefore even if full of one lines is obviously rather popular.
i find it hard to beilieve that some people have the ordasity to complain on topic threads when themselves havent posted any topics of interest.
Thats my point and personally i think it very childish that personal blows have come into affect everyone is taking things personally i think everyone shud have a fag or a coffee and chill the fuck out!!!!!!!!
with the upmost respect louxxx
balliff you are so fit!!

3 cheers for Fabio ! HIP HIP HOORAY ! HIP HIP HOORAY ! HIP HIP HOORAY !
for starting such a good thread. Been gripped reading responses and replies, all relevant to the point made. What are we like ? One big happy family ! Who are secure in the knowledge that they can put across their point and at the end of the day still be accepted. Sun is shining I'm off out into the garden cool
 xxx
yep
Well now, have I just been castigated? I often just add a one liner to things, not to see my name up in lights, nor to get to my count up, but hopefully to say what I feel and how I see it.
I'm not brilliant with the written word, but can talk the hind leg off a Donkey.
But I do have a question regarding this topic, if people don't comment on threads, then what would be the point of putting the thread there in the first place?
