I just find it all a little stale at the mo, forum wise. Nothing with any substance to it. Stuff thats being debated to the hilt yonks ago. Nothing new.
And before anyone jumps in and says "why dont you post then?" my answer is, I cannot be bothered, pure n simple! I get the feeling, Im not the only one to feel like this. The morale in here seems to be hitting rock bottom. We need a FORUM PICK ME UP!! lol

helnheaven, do you think that's actually a reflection of the forum itself, or is it just your take on it? is it any less busy, with a less diverse range of opinion, in actual fact, or are you just bored with it, and you're finding less that engages you personally, now you've been here a bit, and the novelty of the whole SH thing has worn off? ;)
lots of us have been there, done that. it's a perennial issue. older members than you have said as much, older members than me said the same, i've done it meself, and i know others have. confused i think it's natural that the warm rosy glow wears off after a bit, and fewer and fewer threads 'seem' to come up, that you 'feel' ain't been done to death, and debated to the hilt yonks ago, simply cos you've now you've been here a few years, read most of the same topics over and over again, joined in with lots of 'em, and the excitement has now worn off. :?
possibly, it was new and exciting and engaging when you joined, but was possibly already old hat to your predecessors, and by the same token, the excitement still seems to be there for the new blood coming in at times, so i'm not sure which way to jump on this one? dunno forums are always cyclical, this one especially so i think? :?
welcome to being part of the furniture! kiss ;)

I'm jaded with the whole scene, which inevitably shows in my use of forums and chatrooms, and it seems i'm really not alone in this

possibly, the same thing applies widey? been there, done that too. rose tinted specs giving way to a jaded cynicism might just be that the novelty's worn off, you get less excited by what you thought it all was, and so you get a bit more selective in yer old age? ;)
i'm not nearly so active any which way as i once was, but i still find myself engaging with people and things that grab me, so it's not all bad? ;)
n x x x ;)
I've stopped saying what I really think because the odd few seem to take exception to it.
Pete is so right, that to come on to any forum you need to have a thick skin. There are some hereabouts who want to engage in a debate but are not prepared to take a few bruises in the process.
I'll stand up for anything I say to a degree - and sometimes I say stupid things - but I can't be arsed wasting time justifying my position ad nauseam.
That's why I ain't been around much.
Good thread!

Yes
I think u may find this thread prompted some of the more contentious subsequent threads as noted.
As a relative newbie who doest give a flying fart what anybody thinks I have to admit that I sometimes see forum posts that seem to wish to censor or belittle new faces. These are usually the work of a small number of "old hands". It happens on evrry forum I participate in. You simply have to ignore em and express how u feel.

 Oh yeah, and where's the foetus going to gestate, in a cardboard box? rolleyes
As has been said, I think this thread has probably prompted some of the more interesting debates recently which i find brilliant.
Well done to the OP
I've been on my soapbox again redface

Yes

yes we have, and a few other emotive threads too.
im not a big poster anyway, im pretty sure most of the current regulars wont know me anyway dunno
but these overly contentious, provocative and sometimes argumentative threads kinda put me off posting altogether, to be honest.
im here to have fun, a laugh, make friends, give an opinion if im asked and want to contribute....but i dont like feeling that i cant say anything in case someone takes offence and has a go or cant agree to disagree ...(not because im scared of debate but because i really cant be arsed getting into it, like i say , im here for fun, not confrontation)
one good thing about these threads that id rather not get involved in though, it really does show people up for what they are and allows me to know who to give a wide berth!
