Ok, I just watched Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, and well, thought it was super-smashing-great, except for the ending - which i wont say so as not to spoil for anyone else.
What did you lot think of it?
not seen it yet, but will do...
i'll let ya know
Jiggle
Can't wait to see it
Douglas Adams signed my copy of the book - one of those that you turn the pages over carefully.
Anyone ever fathom why 42?
I'm one of those who read the book first - and it really made me laugh. Nothing has really matched up to the book since for me ... so I will be interested to see how the film compares.
It was best the first time around. But this one is good if you havent seen it before
Waiting for Tuesday evening to see it. Always been a fan of the radio show and the books (fond memories of listening to the radio version many years ago with my dad on one of it's reruns, glued to the radio). Got all the books including Mostly Harmless and quite enjoyed the Dirk Gently series too.
Glad to see mostly good responses, I'm really going with low expectations though just so as not to disappoint myself.
Looking forward to the last Star Wars, although probably even lower expectations (first two weren't that great); LotR did much much better as a film in my opinion.
The book is a "novelisation" of the radio scripts and as such doesn't quite link up one-to-one. Bits have been swapped round, there's extra bits (some really funny that should have been in the show), and bits missed out.
So, er.. much like many other conversions.
Back to the origanal topic....
Im looking forward to the release of War of the Worlds...
if it is anything like the Jeff Wayne version then great...
but it will more than likely be like the old version.....which is shit...
cos Mr short arse Cruise stars in it..
