How far would you go??

Well normally. my parties are in Derby, Oxford, Portsmouth and Newport (the S Wales version) so bearing in mind that I'm in Birmingham, that's a fair few miles that get put on the clock.
One of my friends from the party scene has also moved to the Costa Del Sol, so I helped organise a party last weekend out there. So distance wise, Birmingham to the South of Spain...do I win a prize? Not that it was that outrageous though, at Â£52 for the return airfare, and only a 2.5 hour flight, it's almost cheaper and quicker to get there than it is to get to Portsmouth!

Haven't had to go any further than London up to now.
But as the question was how far would you go.....
Depends on who's waiting for me when I get there.
For one special person I'd go as far as it takes :grin:

I'd go 100 miles at least...anything for a decent shag LOL. If there was someone who really hit all the right switches I'd probably go further, but hell I'm new to this so whoo am I kidding

Personally, I wouldn't go farther than a hundred yards for anyone I wasn't confident of getting on with. That's why the Cafe is such a godsend - it helps you get to know people on a non-sexual level so that when you finally meet, if you don't have the greatest sex ever, or even if you don't have sex at all, you can still enjoy the company of someone you've come to regard as a real friend.

Desperation surely lol,
It would take more than just a shag to make me go that far, you need to enjoy yourself outside of the couple of hours in the bedroom.
Pleasant company and someone you get on with makes it far more worthwhile.
im sure you would get bored of traveling 100 miles each way if all you did was dip your wick and she kicked you out?

I would probably travel about 100 mile at max - or distance from London to Birmingham or 2 Hrs by Train.
My car is dead at the mo so have to rely on the great public transport system.
I would also only meet people I had met at social or a munch I would not go on ablind meet.

In 1982 I travelled over 8000 miles with some of my mates and gave some Argentinians a serious shagging......we must of been good 'cause they were flying white flags and screaming and everything !!

hee hee. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones - company petrol makes it sooo much cheaper to travel. But unfortunately - time isn't always possible. But yeah - if I think I'm going to have a great evening/day/weekend - I dont' mind travelling.

We go as far as we can afford when we can afford it. It`s not so much of a gamble for us though, as we are generally travelling to either meet good established friends or a party as well.
It`s all good stuff smile

the furthest i have travelled for a meet, was glasgow by car, but also had a weekend stop over in durham, so 2 meets in one week was well worth the expense, but as most of the others have said, it depends on the person you are meeting, going just for a shag is not really enough to warrent a long journey, being able to get on with that person is also vital, so i would have to know the person reasonably well to travel on any long distance meets biggrin

I went to Hell and back once - She sent a pic and we talked online for quite a while, she invited me to her place, I went down, and was greeted by a vile havillan which bore no resemblance to the picture, which I had taken with me... Good job I love travelling, as I promptly told her what I thought, and spent the following 2 days seeing some of the many marvellous sights of Somerset & Dorset.....

We seem to make friends with people who are considerably far from Somerset. But they come to see us as well as us going to see them, so that's OK.

My personal travel record was just over 4,300 miles - Orlando, Florida to Swindon - to meet up with someone I'd chatted to on-line for about 6 months. I didn't even know the person's gender for the first month or so, but we just hit it off. Before that, I'd never travelled further than Mexico or the Caribbean, so I had to get my first passport and overcome my serious discomfort with flying enough to make the 9 hour trip.
I arrived in freezing Gatwick - the temperature in Orlando when I left was 33Â° - and had to figure out how to navigate the railways to Swindon. Upon arriving there, I rented a car to drive to the individual's house where I found an envelope containing a key with "ssshh - don't speak, just feel" written on its tag. I let myself in, took a shower and laid down on the couch. Although totally exhausted from the trip, I couldn't sleep for the excitement.
A few hours later, she arrived home from work to the strains of "You Never Give Me Your Money" from Abbey Road on the CD player - a gift I'd brought over from the 'States. I remember it so vividly; "one sweet dream came true today" indeed. We were naked within 20 minutes and shagged each other senseless until she had to leave for the school run, upon which I had to leave and go in search of a B&B.
All in all, over 12 hours of travel for a 40 minute encounter. To be fair, I stayed in the UK for a few days and we met up several times during my visit. However, because she had kids, I was only able to visit during school hours and after they'd gone to bed; having to go outside in the freezing cold when I needed a pee - the loo was upstairs, adjacent to their bedrooms - and leaving in the wee hours before they awoke.
Was it worth it? I think so. After that, I made the 8,600+ mile round-trip a total of 11 times before deciding just to stay here. My long-distance cyber-partner and I are getting married on Monday. :love:

Reese, thats a lovely story and i wish you both well, but its not really the sort of situation i was interested in. Call me shallow if you will but i was asking about a sex only type of meeting and not parties or munches neither because again they are different.
I just wondered how far people would travel to meet someone they had only talkied to either on the net or via the phone. I guess im asking because i have a couple of these type of meetings looming that are going to involve one or both parties in considerable amounts of travel ( well considerable to my mind not in comparisson with some of the distances others have travelled)
Any further, sensible , comments would be most welcome

We keep in contact via the internet now to save on phone bills! :lol:
I'd love to have cq's adventure gene. I'm a bit too paranoid about my safety to travel as far as that. A few hours within the uk would be my maximum I think, although never say never! biggrin

I've done 200+ mile round trips for a brew and a chat and I knew there was nothing else on offer. There was also the time that dozens of us from a chat forum descended on Covent Garden from all parts of the UK, sat on a pub balcony and sung out hearts out just so we could truthfully say we had sung at Covent Garden.
It's a mad world, just enjoy it while it lasts. biggrin

surely its not the distance but the time the travel takes. Last sumer in made a trip of 280 miles to meet some one in cornwall. Because of trafic it took just over 7 hours to get there & 8 to get back ! In the same sort of time i could probably have flown half way around the world.
