How many before were swingers?

Although not the most frequent poster by a long shot, me and my good lady have had some time away from SH of late, (first post back in a while wave

everybody) and it could be said we are in the bracket of swingheaven users who only very occasionally meet with people and use the site more for the forums ans social aspect and occasionally flick through the ads. Since being on SH we have met 2 cpls in a year and missed :cry: 1 NE munch, yes we are still gutted we missed it.
i know from my chats with other regulars that it is not completely uncommon that people use the site maily as a social thing and was wondering how many people, single or couples male/female/transgendre (lets not seclude here), use swingheaven more in a social way and only occasionally arrange meetings etc.
For us swinging is a very seldom event and we were recently talking to friends (non swingers) who asked "why do you bother swinging at all if you do it so infrequently?" Is there a number we should be working toward before we become "real swingers"? if so please tell me what it is and we will work towards it and then apply for our official swingers certificate :shock:
anyway just curious so would read any (sensible or not) replies with interest!!

I don't think you can quantify with a number when you are swinging or not. It's entirely up to the individual what they hope to get out of it. Some only ever come on the site for the social side of things and never actually 'meet' anyone. Others have 'meets' on a very regular basis, others less regularly. I think if you never 'meet' people, then you can't really be called a swinger, as you are no different to anyone else you might meet down the pub - other than you openly know people who do swing. Horses for courses really! lol

Mind you, I'm sure others will have many and varied theories on it as well!

As soon as i win the lottery so i can give up work and invent the teleporter, i plan on doing a whole lot more than i do now. but RL and the fact most of my favourite ladies live bloody miles away buggers up my plans for an increase in horizontal encounters.

Yes meat we have the occasional "would you like to meet up tonight?" PM, from people who live in bloody London and we are in the North East. A SH shuttle service should be provided i think, free of charge, or the afore mentioned teleporter should be researched cool

we use it for both social and to meet new friends, we have met a lot through here and know a lot more on here mainly from the old msn days we we tend to stay in touch

I love the social side of all this , I like meeting new people and forming friendship with others who I perhaps wouldnt usually have the opportunity to meet/ associate with etc. Of course 'swinging' underpins why I'm here - but it's not the be all and end all. If I meet someone socially and we 'click' , it may lead to more..... but if it doesnt, I havent lost owt and have at least had a good giggle along the way biggrin

I'm one of those in the 'only occasionally arrange meets' bracket - and only then if I've met the person socially beforehand , usually at a Munch or Social. I do have an ad for couples, but have not met anyone yet as a result because I would still insist that they join in socially first before i'll touch em with a bargepole lol

We joined this site originaly with the specific goal of finding a female bi for Mrs Tweeky to play with as a couple or with me watching. We originaly tried to do this via the photo ads section whilst also keeping half an eye on the couples with Bi-fem alternatives. This proved quite pointless to us far too many time wasters so one day I popped into the forum and began to post a few threads. I (as by this stage it was I as Mrs Tweeky lost a bit of interest in the site) was told it was good to get known in the community to join in and have fun. I have done this and I have had fun biggrin

Having said that I do sometimes feel that although I am posting in a forum where there are swingers I have not actualy done anything to boost the chances of a swinging encounter. I have actualy lowerd my expectations from when I joined the site. When I joined my expectations were my first sentance above, now my expectations are to attend the Bristol munch and have a laugh, thats about it. Looking forward to Bristol, pretty much given up on swinging. Both of my previous swing experiences were spontanius and unexpected, maybe they just wont happen if we look for them.

I'm not a believer in strictly defined labels. No matter how you define them, there will always be some people who don't quite fit. And you will put someone in a category to which they don't feel they belong.
So I say: if you consider yourself a swinger, then feel free to call yourself a swinger.
And out of curiosity: would you rather get the "let's meet tonight" PMs from suitable people from the other end of the country, or from locals who clearly haven't read your profile or ads?
(I have a teleporter, but it's broken. If anyone can provide the right spares, you'll be welcome to borrow it)
