As you may or may not of heard. I was at a party in the south of england over the weekend. As it was a great idea of a few of us to get some food and some booze from a well know supermarket chane.
I queded up plonked the booze on the conveyer betl get to the till. The blonde half nice looking lady asked...the ultimate sin.
HAVE YOU GOT ANY ID
Checked me pocket for my wallet, bollox my wallet is back in the house. ( i had some money on me). I at this point have no ID.
Now, for those of you who, know me and have met me i am 6 2, 24 year old. I am a young looking 24 year old i must admit but I am certainly NOT inder 18. After me politley saying that "YOUR HAVIN A LARF", and telling them i am 24. This STUPID jobsworth was intent in asking for my ID. She would not blimen have it. So In me wise wisdom i decided well i will ask another member of the group to get it for me.
Now this stupid jobsworth was refusing to serve her as well as the alchole was for me. We explained that fine, ok it wasnt of me. She was still refusing. In the end after this member kindly informed this lady that the booze was for a party. In the end they let us have it.
So now after gettinga complete ribbing all weekend from everyone. I decided to put a poll up
i must admit i never been asked even when i was under age but i looked older when i was younger!...... and now i just look my age so have no probs!
Think you'll find it was more likely you looked under 21 Mike. I know that company I work for have a "Think 21" policy. I dont work checkouts cause everyone looks under 21 to my old eyes lol. And i've never been asked for id either have always looked old.

I know i am young looking but i can guarrente the people are with are not in the same age bracket.( i dont want to call them old)
i said me age was 24 and it was in the middle of saturday afternoon.
Now I would not matter if i got asked for id regulaly, but i drink in pubs and go clubbing without any issues. And i where more or less the same clothes.
Normally i do have ID on me but for the first time in ages i didnt have on me person. It was in the house. The person in question was a female i would say in her 20s/30s. In my honest opion i do not think i look under 21. She then proceded to tell a member of the party i was with that she had ided a 30 year old before.
In the end we purchased the booze. It just probably mee venting me anger.

I got asked for id for cigarettes a couple of months ago and im nearly 25. Not complaining tho!
When i was 23 i got asked for ID but i always had a baby face until about 24 so i knew i needed to have at least some form of ID with me. On another note, i was also refused a lottery ticket when i was 21!!!!
I was asked for ID in the U.S a few years ago, I was 31 and it made my day :-)
That said, they probably ask everyone overthere as its a bigger deal

Whilst in the supermarket buying some beer for Xmas I was asked by the woman at the checkout for ID as I looked under 21. This was much to the amusement of the couple behind me as I was 38 at the time-a massive compliment I think!
