i have lost my voice (first one to say "yes!!!!" or "woohoo" is off my xmas card lst)
anyway... tried the strepsils approach and it has gotten worse and worse....
anyone know any good ways (clean) to soothe my throat??????

Aww! Sean! Hope you feel better soon, but in the meantime try asking your chemist for some of this - Ultra chloraseptic anaesthetic throat spray.
Dulls the pain whilst working to kill the bugs which caused it. If not gone within a few days, I'd go for the anti-biotic options, but give this a try first kiss

Ask behind the counter at the chemist (or write it on a piece of paper :giggle smile

for Eludril Spray.
Its an aneasthetic antiseptic, but stronger than those crappy green coloured brand ones you can pick up off a shelf. Works a treat for toothache too, in case anyone has that :thumbup:

I always swear by home made honey and lemon - I use the juice of one lemon mixed with a desert spoon full of honey in a big mug, topped up with hot water and possibly a shot or two of 'medicinal' brandy (or other spirits at a pinch) if I'm planning on trying to sleep (and haven't taken any paracetamol). Often I'll add a cinnamon stick or a lump of peeled root ginger before the hot water, ginger probably being somewhat more effective (I just like the taste of cinnamon smile

).
I got the recipe for this by hanging around metal bands - lots of singers use this mixture, or something similar to keep their voice in good condition when they're playing a lot of gigs.

Some honey in a glass, tot of whisky, tot of lemonade and warm in microwave, two paracetamols (if you are OK to take them!), and off to bedskie... works wonders. Take care xxx :therethere:
