Foe me I cannot see a problem taking articals from a newspaper and discussing it.
I think people really should read what it says a Forum is. If people do not like my posts, and then see I have done another one, then do not bother having a peep. But be honest you have too.
Forums are not all about " fluffy Bunny " things in life. Life is real, it's happening now. These are stories that ARE affecting thousands of people tonight...now.
This Forum is not about me or about anyone particualr person, it is about us all as members, and as such we all have a right to express our opinions.
I am so sorry that people do not like hearing about serious issues. Maybe we should have a strong issues thread, and a Fluffy Bunny one. I have not heard nothing from admin or from any Mod to say I cannot use links from newspapers. They may not agree with it but, I do not think I am doing anything wrong.
So the next time those people out there, who do not like reading my links or my views, it is simple.....do not open up the thread, move to the next one.

Kent it's getting difficult to get away from those threads as there are so many of them. I'm not suggesting that you stop, just maybe keep it in one place?
I have enough going on in my own life than to start getting into debates about other peoples, no matter how heart wrenching or serious!

The Cafe is a forum on a sex website, there are loads of current affairs websites to go too for that. I like my sex website to be just that.
As I maintain, I'm not suggested anyone be stopped, just more contained. Joke threads are locked because a while back they took over the forum posts, we did have a dedicated thread eventually although it's fell by the wayside.

I'm going to put my hand up and say that I do generally avoid these threads lately and do you know what, ever other fecking thread is of a similar vein.
The Cafe is no longer about fun or flirting anymore it's fast becoming an unfriendly place to come. One opinion battling against another, if I wanted politics, bitching and current affairs I'd pick a current affairs fecking site! Instead I want sexy fliryt fun where no one is belittled or made to feel their opinion doesn't matter!
A lot of the longer term posters don't post so much, the mods seem to be modding more than joining in with the fun, every topic turns into a battle.
Why newer people continue their subscriptions I have no idea because to me it would be a waste of money!
*sigh* I've never ever advocated a new forum being set up but right now .... in fact can ONE thread be made and dedicated to all this?

They are fair comments, and whilst this is a sex site, we dont get much sex from it. :upset:
Maybe an op or a mod may want to enlighten us, as to put things like this into a thread on its own.

I've been a member on here under one name or another for about a year - everynow and again i wander in here although not on a regular basis. Last time i looked The Cafe is for general chit chat and discussion so wot is so wrong with Kent posting in here.
To the ppl that dont want to discuss social issues on SH - talk to the powers that be or walk on by. I browse thro and if a post doesnt interest me I dont read or i dont comment on it.
But to be honest, as someone who works from home and spends a lot of time with only a 6 yr old to talk to I welcome the chance to discuss social issues with adults, esp those ppl i already know from the chat rooms. Just because this is a swinging site doesnt mean we cant have vanilla conversations as well surely.
Personally I cant understand how a thread about a gang of teenagers causing mayhem in their local area and someone asking for views on what ppl think could be done, could be so easily moved away because of ppls political views and if u want to escape from real life - go into the chat rooms for the flirting and fun.

I feel that sometimes the " old " forum members do not like newbies treading on their turf. That is only MY opinion, but have seen examples many times of this over many months. We were ALL newbies once.

I think the 'old' members of the forum sort of run out of steam and don't want to have to regurgitate their stuff time and time again. I have used forum here for coming on 3 years and post less (honestly ) and far far shorter posts than I ever did yet i still come in and wander about the place.
As for the subjects discussed, then really current affairs encompasses everything current, so will alwayd be a large, if not biggest proportion of forums. Whereas sex is just sex and has a narrower limit as too how much you can discuss about it.
The fact that it is a sex site allows us sometimes to discuss issues with less constraints maybe? Saying that at times it comes acroiss as more moralistic than a moralist on moral day :lol: but in all it has ups downs comings and going flounces and anti-flounces spits and spats.
As for mods I do think that they are or seem to be absent more lately, bar one or two. Maybe because they too are of the older poster brigade and suffer the same lethargy. I'd like to see a lot more mod involvement in threads and to be honest they know the rules and understand how forum works so should be able to deal with any issues if they have them. Maybe.
Its the same in other forums, in fact the older members in other forums that are also on this, or were, on this forum post far less on those forums too. Its no different elsewhere.
Back on topic. we suffers, on occasion, kids being little sh*ts. If you try and tackle the kids your in the wrong. Oh my god are you in the wrong. If you try and tackle the parents then find a brick wall it's more interested in your problem. If you get the police involved then the parents that weren't interested then suddenly become so, and the whole scenario becomes escalated with bricks going through your windows at 3am or your car being sprayed tyres slashed windows broke etc etc and not by the kids!
I hate to say it but i'm fu*ked if I know the answer. I have tried to help organising residents meetings to get these things aired to councils and police and schools etc but out of an estate of a cpl of thousand how many turn up 8. With no council and no school there eithe,r though to be fair a couple of police officers came along.
Oh and this is happening in a small provincial Cotswold town with plenty of access to open countryside and as much for kids and youths to do as anywhere. Its not a matter of facilities I think but a matter of a social decay that is endemic in society. Maybe as swingers we are helping that social decline by changing the morals laid down over the last however many centuries :sad: crap innit

:sad: crap innit Seeing as I have been accused of things here about my posting, I thought I would go back over the last 20 pages in the cafe to see how many threads I have done.
The answer going back to early August is 23 threads.
Now I have put these into 3 sections. Strong subjects, the ones people seem to be maoning about. The total is 8 threads. Second is the debatable ones like..do you feel sorry for the banks or would you shop your own child. The total is 7. The other one is the one I would call funny threads like...ouch...I bet that hurt or...where did you meet your partner. The total for that is 8 threads.
So after totting all that up I have there or there abouts, done three different topics and they are all the same ammount.
Now If it would have been 15 strong and 1 funny and 5 debate, I would have said that is too much but..... It seems to me that I have not gone overboard on the strong subjects. Go back and check for oneself, I was a bit suprised.
I feel I have balanced up the topics and have not gone for more strong subjects like I thought I may have done. So I feel 3 catagories, 3 different kind of things to talk about, is not as bad as some would make out possibly. Check it out and if I am wrong, then I will stand corrected.
It seemed to me that I was being accused of doing every thread as a link from a newspaper on a strong subject. That is not the case at all. I have done a balanced string of subjects.
I cannot help it if people do not like the third of subjects that I talk about. What about the other 2 thirds, which is the majority?

I did think a while ago about doing a shaven or rough thread but...somebody then done something similar and people were still moaning. " this subjects be done to death " they would scream.
It is difficult fem to do new threads that have not been done before. All of a sudden a new forum poster comes in and starts a thread, that us long standing peeps have heard a load of times. That person then gets digs about how it has all been said before. So what? If people want to reply then let them, no matter how many times that subject has been done.
Funnily enough when that has happened that poster seems to leave, never to return. I wonder why? :shock:
