Yes it will be good to here them again, not that I know what is happening most of the time.
By the way, are you interested in a script called Hamlet, A bunch of monkeys are trying to sell it to me.
i really have no idea what mornington crescent is, i didnt know when the forum post went up & can honestly say i'm even more confuddled now lol
there have been a few suggestions for a new host
amongst them stephen fry to name but one
it seem the hosting duties are to be shared out by 3/4 people till they eventually settle on one
my personal choice would be Tom Baker who is as nutty as a fruit cake, but utterly charming with it
It's going to be quite hard to replace Humph I feel, the names mentioned are all great, but I feel a lot of the comedy with him worked because Humph was this slightly bewildered, bitter old man. Plus I doubt anyone could do the introductions to the town they were visiting quite like he could...
"Nottingham was once called Snottingham, or land of the Snots, until an edict ruling that the name be changed by dropping the 's' to make it easier for the locals to pronounce... It is easy to see why such a change was so fiercely resisted in Scunthorpe..."
Turns out that Stephen Fry, Jack Dee and Rob Brydon are to share the chair. Jack Dee in particular should be hillarious.
I cant imagine it without Humph and none o fthe names that have popped up come close to my ideal. I dont want a QI /Have I got news For You/Buzzcocks vibe.
I want a wickedly wise old man who is far too proper and bewildered to even think of the things he is saying. Is Clive Dunn still alive?
Thanks for posting this Wildfire, great news! Although I do find myself agreeing with Resonance in that Humph's boots will be tricky to fill. I always thought he'd make a wonderful grandad! Did you hear the tribute to him on the radio a few months back? Brought a tear to my eye, in between the chuckles!
