I was musing about whether to give up the ways of the carnivore. The problem I have is that most of the vegetarians I know are bloody whinging gits moaning about this and that. Do you think it is a requisite to be so ?

yes :lol2: :lol2:
Don't do it Lost
all meant with humour folks!! No offence to veggies/vegans or meet eaters

I feel very sorry for Beansprouts - i mean 'what a life' so short lived blees and lets face it nore than likely going to bulk out a chinese takeaway oneday

Why do we had peas??
I hate peas! Chick peas especially!
Not a lover of bean sprouts either.....
Actually, I don't like veg! Only reason I eat meat!
Have grown fond of marinated/smoked Tofu!
Eat some CousCous.
It'll make your mind up for you! :uhoh:
I'm a dyed in the wool meat-eater. Just had a fabulous rare steak. But if you fancy going veggie no-one can object. Only thing is, meat gives you plenty of nutrition that doesn't come from a limited veggie diet. There's loads of books/websites that can point to good veggie alternatives.
I've thought about it - DON'T DO IT!!!!.
Can you really live without a succulent bacon sandwich enhanced by your favourite red/brown/mayo sauce?
I'm mainly a veggie but still on odd occasions eat fish. Always feel so healthy and very rarely get colds contrary to popular belief BUT my daughter is a vegan and puts me to shame with some of the stuff she knows about animal cruelty. She recently sent me these links to make me think some more:
Boycott KFC -

Go Vegan -

I really don't know how a so called "charity" can do this -

One of the many reasons why I hate the "queen" -

In 2007 this still happens -

The answer is simple. If you don't want to eat meat, don't eat it, but don't tell everyone else that's what you are doing.
When you are alone you can eat what and where you like. When you are with others in a pub or a restaurant and have the opportunity to choose, choose whatever you like best without making a song and dance about it. And when you are a guest in someone else's house, eat whatever they give you and appreciate it, and never force your preferences on them or on their cooking!
... and that way you will avoid becoming a bloody whinging git! smile
Interesting use of words here.
Carnivores only eat meat or mainly eat meat. Like my cay who eats meat and the occasional mouthful of grass in order to throw up.
Herbivore/vegatarian don't eat meat.
Omnivore eat both meat and vegatables.
Most people are omnivores though many like to brag they are carnivores.
Personaly I don't eat a lot of meat. Except at BBQ where I take in about a months worth and it lies undigested in my stomach for hours and hours.

It's not a prerequisite; some of us only moan when we're supposed to. Join us - your conscience will be clear and your semen will taste great ;)
My daughter's a vegetarian (animal cruelty/raised for meat are her main reasons - she did enjoy meat when she was younger). We try to keep in loads of pasta and rice as well as veggies (frozen are as good as fresh so there's always something in the freezer for her) and vegetarian sauces. She's become quite adept at knocking out a decent meal for herself. She'll also sometimes have the same as us, just without the meat part.
I doubt she would be so rude as to refuse something in another person's home - she'd just eat a bit of something she did like and maybe some bread.
She wanted to take us out for a meal the other week and we visited one pub/restaurant, where she looked miserably at the menu for all of two minutes, then we all left. Then we got a lecture about how they should have more choice. rolleyes We went for a curry - they always have vegetarian options aplenty.
We will buy ready meals for her for when she doesn't have much time - the major supermarkets have a decent range.
What makes me laugh though, are things like 'beef' gravy mix or 'chicken' savoury rice things, which are suitable for vegetarians!
i agree...if you become a vegetarian for you then thats cool...ive been a vege since i was about 5/6..i made the decision for myself..all of my family were meat eaters..and one side of my family are from farming background so you can imagine how it was received...
vegetarians dont all moan..those who do tend to be the freedom fighter type, who i hate to say it often are vegetarians just to fight against somthing..my friends accept me as a vegetarian because i dont preach about it to them all the time, and thats the best way to be i think...if you wish to become a vege for YOU then thats cool!!
there is far more choice for vegetarians now..when i first became a vege it was really tough....but, time for my one moan, please..dont become a vegetarian who eats chicken and fish lol (they arent vegetarians..just someone who doesnt eat red meat lol!)
I was told years ago that one of the definitions of being vegetarian is 'doesn't eat fish, flesh or fowl' - another I've heard is 'doesn't eat anything that had a face'.
This thought went through my mind last night too when I was watching Gordon Ramseys The F word. He reared some sheep just so he could have them slaughtered and use them in his restaurant. They showed the poor things getting slaughtered
Although I do love eating lamb so much I dont know if I could give it up redface
What would it take to shock me into not eating something dunno
Probably if I had to kill it myself blink

I think maybe some of them call themselves 'vegetarian' because it seems to give their choice some kind of credibility. Maybe sounds better than just moaning 'I don't like beef/lamb/whatever' ?

Go on you can do it!
...and veges are not whinging gits!
Do not listen to those bloody farms, who only want to make money out of you. Those burger joints who tell tell you a quarter pound of fat with 1 gram of lean beef will make you happy.
In truth, go vege if you want to.

I've said the same thing Louise. I've seen pigs being slaughtered and it put me off pork for a while, but only because I thought I might be eating one of those that I saw killed. I couldn't kill anything then eat it, but that's easy to say I suppose because I've never had to and can't foresee having to.
I think that programmes like Gordon Ramsay's and Jamie Oliver's (when he slit the animal's throat on telly) are just made to cause a stir. They caused me never to watch either again. confused

And? There's no way you can compare that, unless you were to try a diet inclusive of meat and got the same person to compare your semen on two separate occasions(meaty/veggie).
My hubby's not a vegetarian but his semen tastes nice. Can't say it tastes any different when he's not eaten meat for a day or so though.

Are you up for a blind tasting FB?

Nope lol
I couldn't turn veggie, I love eating cock too much  :lol2: (does that count as meat?)

Suppose it depends on whether or not you season it with salt/pepper/vinegar and chomp down on it lol
